Extremely Poor Firearm Pickup Experience – No Accountability I had a very frustrating experience at Bass Pro Shops in Tacoma regarding a firearm pickup. I purchased a firearm on 12/12. I later received a phone call stating that my background check had passed and was told explicitly that I could pick up the firearm on 12/30. Based on that information, I drove 45 minutes to the store on the 30th morning and waited over two hours in line at the firearms counter. When it was finally my turn, I was told I could not pick up the firearm and that I would need to come back on January 1st, because although the state approval date was 12/30, the federal system showed 1/1. This was never communicated to me prior to my visit. Staff claimed they had called or left a voicemail notifying me of this change. I checked my call history directly with my carrier and no such call or voicemail exists. I received no notification whatsoever. What made this experience worse was the complete lack of accountability or empathy. When I asked if there was anything that could be done to help given the situation (expedited handling next visit, accommodation, etc.), I was simply told to “come back later.” There was no apology, no attempt to verify the call, and no acknowledgment of the time wasted. I understand background checks and regulations can be complex, but clear communication and basic customer service should not be optional. This experience was disorganized, dismissive, and extremely disappointing. I would strongly recommend using a local FFL instead if you value your time.

I never felt so harassed in my life I’m a law biding citizen that just want to exercise his second amendment and the store security was all over me I hate to say it but I think it’s because of my Melanin I wait for services and I noticed a work standing behind me with a ear piece I didn’t pay no attention to him because I thought he was just Customer service after a while of standing my back started to hurt so i took a seat on the bench five minutes later the same customer services guy stood right next to me and I told him that I was looking for same Specific and can he show me it he replied no I don’t work in this department. After 20 minutes or so I left to no Avail I was followed out the store by Undercover security as I walk out bass pro shop works walked in and after that I was followed by another plain clothed officer to my car racism is still alive and it has nothing to do with color people in general don’t like to see black men doing go people are people

If you're buying a firearm, get ready for a horrible experience. You're going to wait forever to do your paperwork and they're probably going to get your pick up date wrong. Don't be surprised if you drive down there and you can't pick your firearm up. They got my date wrong twice. I could have bought my firearm at sportsmans warehouse for the same price and saved myself a lot of headache. Screw this place. This is the first and last purchase I make at bass pro shop or cabelas.

The rating is for the firearm counter. We love coming to get the holiday photos done for our kids but unfortunately the people working the firearm counter are very discriminating. Don’t go there unless you are a white American citizen or you will be greeted with nothing but hostility. Very disappointing. My husband came to purchase his first firearm and was very excited and during the process he asked a question in regards to the background check and was told they cant answer any questions or help. And then something was misclicked and instead of allowing my husband to go back and change it Stewart looked at my husband’s ID and was acting as if it was a counterfeit $100 bill and then said that if he couldn’t answer the question correctly then they didn’t need to sell him a firearm. And told him to go elsewhere because he wont ever be able to purchase one from there.

Worst gun counter ever. Purchased a FCU online made an appointment still had to wait 2 and half hours just to do my paper work no exaggeration, then another hour to do paper work because they have like a triple check system...meaning 3 people look over your paper work before they even ok it. Iam all about being thorough but this is ridiculous. Then after the 10 day waiting period same thing made a appointment and still had to wait 3 hours to sign etc. Then another hour while they check everything again....I will never purchase another firearm from here again...Just go to sportco...
