Great to buy from but be cautious that they only pay 10% or less than their resale price.

Good choice of books. Helpful staff to point you in the right direction and to identify if they had the book in stock or not.

Went there today to buy a turntable and sell some of my better classical CDs. I glanced at what they are retailing classical CDs for: most were at least $4 each and many were well above that. My offers weren't the crappy "best of Beethoven" junk but decent selections with high-class orchestras playing well-known symphonies I knew HPB could re-sell quickly. I thought $1/CD was reasonable. Well...they offered me $1,75 for ALL TEN. I just looked at them, ie like they're wasting my time with insulting offers like that. Customers can look at store prices, do the math and know that HPB is offering literal pennies on the dollar. So if anyone wonders why the CD selection is so awful at these stores, it's because they practically charge you for the privilege of selling items to them.

A staple of Redmond, this olde timey store manages to keep up with the changing times by providing a great selection of yesterday's best sellers, today's hottest page turners, and everything in between. The wide variety of board games and video games on display are always tempting, and the movies and music collection has a little of something for everyone!
