Visited a couple times in December. The line for pictures with Santa was long. Seems to be a popular choice for Santa pictures. Many families brought their dogs. It would be nice if Cabela's had tall sizes in the store, not just online.

Gun/ hunting counter services are abysmal. Came in 10 mins after opening went upstairs saw the gentleman in the gun library was helping someone. I waited a while asked if someone could help me and was told he would get to me when he was done. I waited another while and went to the customer service center where they told me I needed to be in a QR code line after already waiting for an hour. Why was I not told about a QR code when I asked the counter if someone could help me? Just completely frustrating was gonna buy 3 guns but I guess not here unfortunately. I really like Cabela's I refer to it as my candy shop but this experience has me questioning that.

Showed up and signed into the wait list for the gun counter. Proceeded to wait for an hour and my spot didnt move once, meanwhile around 6-7 employees were just standing at the firearm checkout doing seemingly nothing. They'd walk past you up and down the gun counter but wouldn't acknowledge you. Terrible customer service and a waste of time. Not to mention their selection is really slim with the vast majority of pistols just being gen 3 glocks and sigs.

Arriving at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s in Lacey, you don’t feel like you’re pulling into a simple store — it feels more like the edge of a forest gateway 🌲. The air is cool, clean, and heavy with the scent of evergreen trees. Somewhere beyond the roads and parking lots, the land quietly rises into hills and distant mountains.
Inside, the outdoor world continues without interruption. Wooden beams, stone textures, boats resting in display, walls of fishing gear, hunting equipment, boots, jackets — everything blends into a calm wilderness mood 🎣🦌👢. You move through the aisles as if walking through a lodge built at the boundary between town and forest.
The aquariums glow softly, water moves slowly behind the glass, and the whole place feels steady and grounded. This isn’t about noise or urgency. It’s about preparation — for rivers, trails, cold mornings, campfires, and long days surrounded by trees 🏞️🔥.
Even when families come in, even when kids line up near seasonal displays and holiday decorations, the space keeps its quiet strength ❄️🌲. There’s a sense that nature is always present here — not as a theme, but as something real waiting just outside the walls.
When you walk back outside, the cool Pacific Northwest air settles on your face again. The forest isn’t far. The road feels like a slow line leading back into green distance.
This place doesn’t feel like a store.
It feels like a threshold between everyday life and the deep wilderness of Washington.
The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
