  Terrible experience at the gun counter. All the employees want to do is chat with their friends and play with the pistols. Took a half hour to get a box of shells from behind the counter. When the store manager was checking me out I told her about the issues I had at the gun counter. She wouldn't address them checked me out and handedy receipt. She was more rude than the guy at the gun counter. 645pm 20feb2026

  Purchased a 30-06 in December and talked about the 3 & 5 year service plan. I asked about having my 45 caliber pistol cleaned and was told it was a service they provided and it was $29 as a stand alone service. I told him it took a tool to break it down and I didnt have one. He says, "we have everything needed." I bring it in December 29th and have it checked in at the entrance. I wait approximately 15 min to be approached by an employee and asked what I needed. After I told him, he asks me to wait and goes to the back. 10 min later he comes out and asks if I can wait again while he uses the restroom. Starting to feel weird at this point but he returns and we again converse about what I need and he says its $29. He takes my pistol to the back and shortly returns with my pistol and says, "the manager says we can't do it because we don't have the tool." I say, "no problem. the tool is inside the case I just found it today." He takes it back again, returns with my pistol and says, "the manager says we can't do it because it takes a tool." Do you see where my confusion lies? Before he took it back for the last time I said, "it feels like you're looking for an excuse to NOT do it and if thats the case, just say so." "John the manager" didn't have the courtesy or professionalism to come talk to me myself but kept sending his very apologetic employee who was just doing what John told him to do. Managers lead, they don't stay in back as your employee struggles to give a valid explanation. 4 times he went to the back to talk to you. Needless to say, after purchasing 3 weapons and many other supplies at this place, this left a really bad taste in my mouth.

  Great store in Longview Wa. This was my first time shopping in this store. Very clean and easy to shop in. The staff was very good in helping me find what I needed to finish my Christmas shopping. Sales prices were very good thru the store. It was well worth the trip I made from Clatskanie to shop here and I definitely will be coming back soon.
