If I could give 0 stars, I would.
I spent over $900 on a few items before the Black Friday deal because my mom had a coupon. When I got home, I realized I had received a 25% off coupon that would’ve saved me more money. I went back to the store to exchange my items and use the better coupon, but the sales associate, Jonathan, told me to wait until the next day because there would be an even bigger sale. I trusted him and appreciated the information — until I returned the next day.
When I came back to repurchase everything with the Black Friday discount, my cashier (Leslie) asked for a manager’s approval. Wesley walked over, even though he didn’t seem to be a manager, and immediately told her no. A few minutes later, a tall Latino man wearing glasses — who seemed to be the actual manager — came over and told her, in a very rude tone, that they don’t allow that. He also gave my mom and me a disgusted look. Because of this, I returned everything and decided to purchase something else instead.
My brother, seeing how upset I was about returning my items (especially the teddy bear sweater), offered to buy the sweater for me as a Christmas gift. He went up to the registers and was about to check out with one of the cashiers when Wesley — who was not a cashier — stepped in and told her that he would ring up my brother instead.
My brother asked if he could buy the teddy bear sweater, and Wesley told him they didn’t have the size anymore, even though I had watched the manager tell Leslie to hide it in the back earlier. My brother then asked if they could order it online, and they pretended to check on the iPad before refusing again, saying it was out of stock online too.
Then Wesley — the same person who denied everything earlier — started asking my brother to verify his loyalty account for no real reason. When I stepped over to help, he suddenly asked for my email so my brother could complete his purchase. Throughout this, Wesley and the rest of the employees were acting rude and giving us disgusting looks.
After we left the register area, Wesley didn’t check out any more customers at all, which makes it obvious he singled out my brother on purpose.
This was extremely unprofessional behavior from multiple employees, and it clearly starts with the management. They would rather lose sales than let my brother repurchase a sweater I had returned minutes earlier. I love the brand, but after this experience, I will never shop at this location again. Now I understand why the store has terrible Yelp reviews. Employees don’t greet you, they don’t offer help, and they clearly do not value customers.
I sincerely hope the district manager reviews the cameras and sees exactly how we were treated — especially how Wesley singled out my brother at the registers.
