Don't bother going there. Manager of store is rude, apparently she doesn't give any eye contact to customers or care about customer service. The random guy who works in the Sephora area looks like a deer in the headlights. I thought he was a custom about to leave wearing a coat with black jeans. Anytime l asked him anything, he had no clue and wasn't going to help.

This review is a result of deceptive purchase/check out practices. In the end of November, my 15 yo daughter and I stopped by JCPenney looking for some gift ideas for her friend. She found something for me that she wanted to buy as a Christmas gift and asked to check out on her own to preserve an element of surprise that I would not see what she was getting me. One month forward, looking at the receipt, I found out that a "donation" line of $0.59 was added to it. While the amount is very small, at no point my daughter was asked if she wanted to donate, or volunteered to donate. Whoever is that associate #0708 should be grossly ashamed of herself! I suspect they are getting some perks from collected donations. There is a common practice nowadays at the retail stores to request donations, which I kind of feel very awkward about (feels like a guilt tripping), but that always must be approved by the purchasers. I believe that minors should be kept out of it. In general, most of merchandize in JCPenney stores lacks any style and appeal, and I barely remember buying anything there other than small generic items. We usually avoid the store due to that as it is mostly waste of time to navigate it, and you can get exactly the same stuff and sometimes for less money elsewhere. However, after this incident, my family will avoid it entirely. The amount is not significant, but the issue of charging the kid something that she did not agree or volunteer to give is.

This is for the Portraits section at the store: Navid has a terrible attitude and almost ruined my family's first photoshoot. He was getting frustrated with our baby! What kind of human gets frustrated and annoyed with a baby?! Our baby wasn't even crying or misbehaving but occasionally had fingers in their mouth which I thought was very cute but Navid would sigh and constantly say "no". Navid's timing is awful with photos too because our baby would have big smiles but Navid wouldn't take the picture! Navid also tried belittling me when I was trying to calm him down (crazy that I had to calm down the "photographer") by showing me a photo where my eyes were closed. Navid kept saying, "see! Do you see?! Your eyes are closed" We just wanted a nice moment for family photos.
