A Richmond tradition for over fifty years, the Franco’s story began in Tuscany, Italy in 1946 when a young Franco Ambrogi learned to sew from his mother. By the age of 15, Franco emigrated to Richmond and quickly found work in a small tailor shop. He began working at the venerable department store Thalhimers and later at retailer Berry-Burk. By his early thirties, he opened Franco's and began offering high-quality men's tailored clothing. Franco's soon earned the reputation as Richmond's finest haberdashery with an abiding commitment to quality. Today, Franco's is a second-generation-owned business offering a range of world-renowned menswear and shoe brands including Canali, Corneliani, Eton, Barbour, Peter Millar, Alden, and many others.
