My year with the interlock system in my vehicle was much less stress-free and smooth thanks to Roadguard Interlock's technicians, Sonia and Darren. Getting a DUI in itself is a stressful situation that is usually compounded by dealing with your local ASAP program providers. But the interlock installation and monthly calibrations were without question the easiest parts of this probationary period. Sonia was always available to answer my questions and concerns. She's a kind soul and a professional. Draeger management, if you're even reading these reviews, you need to be giving these technicians some customer service awards or bonuses. They're the oil keeping the wheels turning imo. I will without a doubt be referring anyone I know that requires an interlock to Sonia or Darren.

Frequently Asked Questions About RoadGuard Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

When you start your vehicle, you have to blow into a mouthpiece that’s connected to the ignition interlock device, sometimes called an in-car breathalyzer. The interlock device will then measure your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) and automatically determine whether your BrAC is low enough to allow the car to start. Any test you take, whether pass or fail, will be reported to your monitoring authority.

How much does an ignition interlock device cost?

Ignition interlock device costs vary because each state has different pricing regulations and device technology requirements. But in general, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 to install the interlock device depending on vehicle type. After the initial interlock installation, you are required to pay a monthly rental or lease fee. On average, the cost to rent or lease an interlock device is between $50 and $150 per month.
