  As I was walking in the store no one greeted me. I was looking at fishing poles and employees were looking at me as if I was going to steal something but never once did anyone speak to me. I got to the boot section and I had one older lady asking I needed help with anything. She was very helpful. I proceeded to go back and look at guns in the display. There were 3 guys back there 1 was helping a customer with a background check. Another one was sitting on the counter next to the display and the third seemed to be just walking around behind the display. Not one of them even said I'll be right with you. I was looking at a pistol that was 700.00 but sales arent very important here I suppose. So I'll shop somewhere else.

  Lots of nice stuff but customer service is terrible. Absolutely no grace for returns of unsatisfactory products. Bought a $60 pair of pants that I had for 2 days, was told they cannot be returned without tags and/or having been washed. Tell me, how does washing a pair of pants reduce their value, especially if washing them just reveals how crappy they are to begin with because they shrivel up like paper in the washer? They're supposed to be work pants. Will not be buying any kind of work wear, footwear, or hunting supplies from this store again.

  I love the selection of bass fishing gear and lures. Prices are fair and make a trip to get stuff worthwhile The reason I give it 4 stars is location. In the middle of a busy mall, which is a turn off for me.

  The customer service in this store is HORRIBLE. Rebecca should NOT be in the customer service department because she lacks CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.

  Im typing this review because the way my husband and I were treated today at Academy Sports felt racist and discriminatory. From the moment we walked into the firearm section to pick up an order, we were treated differently. We were not greeted. Our questions were ignored. The employee helping us acted like he did not want us there. At the same time, we clearly saw other customers being treated with respect, spoken to kindly, and helped right away. The manager to that section , Mr. Nic, made things worse. After he took our order number, the manager became completely careless. Instead of finishing our pickup and letting us leave, he casually turned and started talking about personal matters with the employee including asking about his “baby mama” and talking about other workers who work there. He showed no urgency and no awareness that we were standing right in front of him waiting. I was not expecting friendliness or conversation. I did not need a smile. All I expected was basic courtesy. help the customer, complete the order, and then continue personal conversations after. What hurt the most was the way we were looked at and treated. We were watched more closely and treated with clear distrust, while others were not. The tone, body language, and lack of respect made it very clear that we were being judged because of how we looked. That feeling stays with you. It is painful and humiliating. Everyone can have a bad day, but this was not a bad day. This was a lack of respect and basic decency. No one should leave a store feeling uncomfortable, ignored, or judged when they are trying to make a legal purchase.Because of this experience, I will not be returning.
