  Couldn't find my size in a pair of cargo pants and quickly a young woman staff member helped me, contacted someone in the back and found a pair my size, within five minutes!

  I’ve been shopping at the Fairfax mall for years, and based on consistent observations, the storefront ads at the American Eagle here have featured all other racial groups and genders — except Asian men. This is especially disappointing given that Asians are the second-largest racial group in Fairfax, making up 20 percent of the community. Asian men already face a longstanding lack of representation in media, and this store’s advertising choices reinforce that invisibility. It would be great to see American Eagle update its marketing to better reflect the actual diversity of its customers. Representation matters, and including Asian men would be a meaningful and overdue step.

  I haven’t been jean shopping in a while. I was warmly greeted at the door by Liv. She walked me through the different styles of jeans, listened to my likes and dislikes and gave me great advice as to the style of jeans to try as well as which sizes would fit me best. She walked me to each section and explained the differences and how they fit. As I was checking out, my sister and I were discussing/joking about a certain style and my age. We all had a few good laughs as we talked about nostalgia with styles. Having not been shopping for quite some time, Liv and all of the staff at the Fair Oaks Mall America Eagle made my experience fun and I will definitely return for more shopping!
