  I was in the Nordstrom Rack store around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 22. While checking out, I told the associate that I wanted to use my Nordstrom card, which I did not have with me, and that I also wanted to use my Nordstrom points—meaning my Nordstrom Notes. She was ringing up my transaction so quickly that I don’t believe she understood what I was saying. I also sensed there may have been a language barrier. When the transaction finished, I didn’t see my Nordstrom Notes deducted, so I pointed it out. She responded by saying, “That’s not what you told me.” Those were her exact words. I know I clearly explained that I wanted to use both my Nordstrom card and my approximately $20 in Nordstrom Notes, but she didn’t seem to listen. I want to be clear that the issue was not language—I'm fully supportive of people from all backgrounds. The issue was her attitude and the way she handled the situation. Eventually, she issued a credit, re-rang my transaction, and applied my Notes. She thanked me at the end, but it felt very half-hearted. I have never experienced this level of poor service at Nordstrom before, and I spend thousands of dollars with Nordstrom each year. I want to make you aware of the situation. If you speak with her, she may claim that I didn’t tell her about my Notes, but that is simply not true—I did explain it, and she did not listen.

  PSA: Don't get burned. I went to return a skirt only to be told it was final sale and they couldn't process the return. I asked where it said the item was final return because the cashier who checked me out did not mention that little tidbit. The employee said it says so on the receipt. Now, how would that help me after I have already purchased the item?? I asked the same of the manager who said any item marked over 90% off is final sale. Again, how would a customer know that policy? Nowhere on the tag does it say "final sale" or what percentage was marked off (although the tag did say 82% savings which doesn't fit the manager's narrative either). I asked if I could get store credit at the very least and the manager gave a dead-eyed "no, sorry" and walked away. All this over a ~$20 item when I've been a loyal customer for years? I won't shop here again on principle and recommend others don't either.
