This review may not exactly be fair for Bass Pro Shops, but I feel this lands on them as they allow this to happen in their store. I was browsing the other day with my kids. We were wandering around and they were having fun going through the tents that were set up. One of the tents happened to by by two gentlemen that appeared, at first glance, to be Cabela's employees. One of them approached my kids and gave them "golden tickets" and stickers and we started talking. He mentioned that there is a scavenger hunt for the kids and suggested we go up to customer service to get the information for it. Then came the sales pitch. I glanced down and saw his shirt said "Hilton" on it. I gave an audible sigh with a "ohh....". Long story short, it was a timeshare sales pitch. They "comp" you a vacation if you sit through their timeshare presentation. I told him multiple times I was not interested. I even stopped him at one point when he was "trying to get me a better deal" with his boss and told him "I am trying to be civil here. I am not interested. Please stop" he still pushed it 3 more times after that point. I think I told him 7 times in total that I was not interested, while trying to wrangle my kids to leave. I hate pushy sales people that force you to be a jerk just to get them to stop. Shame on Bass Pro Shops for allowing these people to set up in their store. Avoid them at all costs. When I was there (03/08), they were set up near the ice fishing tents.

I visited the Farmington Bass Pro for help with my archery setup and was actually told by other staff members to return when Kendal was working. Kendal is a true outdoor man with a deep knowledge of hunting and archery. He didn’t just 'fix' my setup; he took the technical time to do it correctly and safely, all while being a great guy to chat with. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a real passion for the outdoors that shows in his work. His customer service was spot on, It’s a relief to find a professional bow tech you can actually trust with your gear and the employees recommend him so you know you're in good hands. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars for Kendal.

I had a potentially dangerous experience at the Farmington, UT Bass Pro archery department. I bought a set of high-end Easton FMJ MAX arrows. Bass Pro offers free arrow length cut and insert install. The cut seems ok. The level of incompetence displayed by the employee, Kendell, was staggering. Not only did I have to explain and demonstrate how to use the basic insert tool, but after Kendell botched the initial install, he proceeded to use a heat gun on the aluminum/carbon shafts—twice—to try and "fix" the mistake (HIT uses a hidden insert that uses a depth tool provided in each package of arrow shafts. Kendell left this out and intalled all flush with the end of the arrow shaft, i noticed what he was doing when he was almost done). Any professional bow tech (or anyone with training, youtube, Reddit and any modern arrow knowledge), knows that applying high heat to carbon fiber can cause delamination and catastrophic failure of the arrow. Even though I raised these concerns with Kendell, it was met with almost no concern or empathy. I left as soon as I could. I had to contact Easton’s technical product team just to confirm that while the aluminum outer shaft should be fine, the internal carbon shaft was likely compromised. Easton took ownership of thier distributors mistake, gave amazing customer support and are replacing the arrow shafts. Insert install is a task i can complete myself. I trusted Bass Pro had professional services. There was nothing professional about the service provided. Now, imagine buying a full carbon arrow (Axis, 5.0 etc) and having the same treatment, this could cause serious damage and harm to gear and more importantly the shooter. If you value your safety and your equipment, do not let this "Pro Shop" touch your gear. They are untrained and creating genuine liability issues for their customers. Update: emailed the address given. Was told 1-2 business days for management to reach out. Nothing yet after 5 days.

Great store. Went to purchase my first handgun yesterday and it was an awesome experience! Cameron at the gun counter knows his stuff, and is super knowledgeable on Glocks specifically. Would definitely recommend.

I wasn’t planning on leaving a review, but after calling the store manager and hearing him double down on this experience, I feel like other parents deserve a heads-up. I was in the store with my two-year-old. He grabbed a small campfire toy box from the bottom shelf and was kneeling on the floor looking at the pictures, pointing and saying things like “fish” and “fire.” He wasn’t opening the package, damaging anything, or being rough—just being a curious toddler. An employee came up behind him and literally snatched the box out of his hands and put it back on the shelf. No warning, no kindness. When we said “excuse me,” she said in a rude tone, “If you’re not going to buy the toy, don’t touch the toys.” After that, she hovered over us and every time my child touched anything, she would rush over and put it back. It felt incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I called the manager afterward, hoping for some understanding. Instead, he laughed and said the employee is “protective of the toys” because kids destroy packaging and toys, and that their policy is basically: the toys are theirs until you buy them, and kids shouldn’t be playing with them. While I completely understand not allowing kids to destroy merchandise, that’s not what was happening here. My child wasn’t opening anything or damaging anything—he was simply looking at a box on a shelf designed at kid height. This policy (and the way it’s enforced) feels really out of touch and not customer-oriented at all. Can you imagine if Target or any other major retailer didn’t allow kids to touch toys? They’d lose a huge portion of their customers. Bass Pro is a family-oriented store, and this approach is going to turn families away. If you have young kids, just know that you may not feel welcome browsing the toy section here. It was a really jarring, uncomfortable experience, and the manager’s response made it even more disappointing.
