Back in July, my husband and I stopped by this store, as he wanted to look at new sneakers. He had gone inside the store first, as I had stopped at another store next door. My husband later did find a pair of sneakers that he liked and called me to come over to check the sneakers out. He had to also use the restroom since we ate before coming to the store. When I came in, I also had to use the restroom, but both restrooms were in use. While walking towards the restroom, a female staff nearly stopped me, asking me how I was; which I responded that I was doing well and went about my way. I also noticed another female staff walking towards the clothing aisle near the restroom. As I waited for a restroom to be available, I decided that I’d go look at the sneakers that my husband found. While I made my way to find the sneaker section, the same second female staff who walked towards the clothing aisle was now following me and when I finally turned my head towards her, and caught her watching me. The female staff immediately began to run her hands through the clothes, to make herself look busy, and that she wasn’t watching me. I did go about my way and bought what I needed.
This experience shows the two female staff and I want to emphasize the second female staff who was pretending to be busy but was really actually watching me; clearly showed their ugliness and stereotyping. I want to add that other staff such as the cashier, were very kind. So it is not the store’s fault that this happened. Some people just think it’s okay to bring their ugliness to the work setting. The store is great, but the two female staff, they are not.
