  Nordstrom Rack has been my favorite store since high school. I used to go into the suburbs of Chicago to go Doc Marten hunting and found so many crazy deals over the years. I now live within walking distance and dread when I HAVE to go there because of this location. The lack of customer service, especially in the night shift is insane. Having worked in retail my entire life, I'm appalled by the way this store treats their customers. They treat everyone like a criminal. I won't deny that retail does come with AP issues, but not everyone is trying to steal. When I am in the store, I feel unwelcomed. I'm either watched and followed or if I ask questions, they are rude or tell me that I need to help myself. It's unfortunate that I have to write this because the daytime team is phenomenal, but they need new management on the night shift so that they can have a consistent customer experience.

  I want to share a very uncomfortable experience I had with both a purchase and a return. The sneakers I bought did not look completely new even at the time of purchase — they already seemed slightly worn, like they had been tried on many times or possibly returned before, but no one mentioned anything about their condition when selling them to me. I still decided to try them at home and wore them indoors for just a few minutes in a clean environment, but they didn’t work for me, so I brought them back in the exact same condition, without ever wearing them outside. What made this situation really bad was how I was treated during the return — the staff, including a manager, were closely inspecting the shoes and repeatedly asking me if I had worn them and for how long, which made me feel like I was being accused of returning used items. It felt unfair and honestly upsetting, because I returned them exactly as I received them, yet I was put in a position where I had to justify myself. If the shoes looked worn at return, then why was this not pointed out when they were sold to me in the first place? The whole experience left a very unpleasant impression, and it definitely discourages me from shopping here again. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that customer service can be improved so others don’t feel the same way.

  Huge selection but not the neatest store. However, definitely worth stopping in.
