Rob from the shoe dept who usually works in freight was absolutely amazing. I somehow called the main Cabela’s number and they got rob on the phone to look for a pair of shoes that said limited stock. I was then transferred to him and I only live a few minutes away so he put them aside and when I got there he went in the back and was out in two seconds. Extremely helpful and hoping all my experiences in the shoe dept is with him as I’ve had two other scenarios where a worker just told me to order them online

Lady in the gun library was to speaking to everyone but those of us looking to actually buy something. Saw a Model 70 that had my name on it. If you’ve got someone willing to readily spend nearly $2,000 on a firearm they’ve been looking for, then you should probably pay attention to them.

Great product, beautiful looking store. 4 stars because I had 4 employees in one visit try to get me to sign up for their credit card. Some of us just want to shop without being badgered and it took away from the experience.

I had two completely opposite experiences with Cabela’s, and it really shows how much customer service matters. First, I want to highlight the woman who helped me over the phone with my order. She patiently worked through nearly 30 gift cards without any frustration, had a great attitude the entire time, and was incredibly helpful. She is exactly what customer service should be—friendly, patient, and a great face for the brand. Unfortunately, my in-store experience at the firearms counter was the complete opposite. I came in excited to pick up a firearm I had been looking forward to for months—honestly like a kid in a candy shop—but the interaction with Andy behind the counter completely killed that excitement. The service was cold, robotic, and unwelcoming from start to finish. Even basic attempts at conversation were shut down, and the overall demeanor made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. I had full intentions of spending more time and money in the store, but I was so turned off by the interaction that I just wanted to leave. It was that bad. I left not only disappointed, but honestly not wanting to come back—even after finally purchasing something I had been excited about for a long time. Cabela’s clearly has people who represent the brand incredibly well, but my experience in-store shows there is a serious gap in consistency.

April 2026--Trae was good. But...frustrating issues buying a firearm. Went for a specific S&W (based on price) and after 30 minutes, they found that their trigger locks were "accidentally over compressed" meaning the trigger safety springs were toast. This meant extra paperwork to warranty a brand new item, plus it will cost me another $25 or more in gas to make the return trip (already waiting 2 weeks with no update) to come back and pick it up. I offered to take a different model for a measley 10% off to save them paperwork and a second trip for me, but that "wasn't available". Never had these issues at Fleet Farm! I am very disappointed especially since they did not offer any other options. 🫤
