Frequently Asked Questions About The Bramble Patch
Can I bake in my Polish Pottery?
Yes, you can use Polish Pottery in the oven. However, it is not suitable for stovetop cooking or broiler use. Polish Pottery provides excellent baking results, with superior browning on bread crusts, pies, and cakes. Many customers report that bread often releases easily from the baker even without oiling.
Can I put my Polish Pottery in the dishwasher?
Yes, Polish Pottery is dishwasher safe. The finish will not deteriorate or scratch during wash cycles, even after decades of dishwasher use. For best results, use a dishwasher rinse aid to restore the pottery's original shine.
Can my Polish Pottery go in the microwave?
Yes, Polish Pottery is microwave safe. We recommend limiting microwave use to 10 minutes or less, as some microwaves may create hot spots, particularly older models or those without rotating turntables.
How do I get baked-on food off of my Polish Pottery?
Baked-on food is common when using Polish Pottery for baking. Most customers achieve excellent results by placing the pottery directly in the dishwasher. If you prefer to pre-rinse, allow the pottery to cool completely, then soak it in water for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The baked-on food will release easily, unlike most traditional bakeware.
What are Signature or Unikat pieces?
Signature pieces and Unikat pieces are the same. The term Unikat translates to unique in English, indicating that each Unikat pattern is exclusive to a single artist. These patterns feature more intricate detailing and require significant time to complete. They are called Signature pieces in the United States because each artist signs the bottom of the piece upon completion.
