it's fine- takes a couple hours for them to sort through things but it's a little annoying that my $450 homecoming dress that was never worn because it didn't fit only sold for $3.60. Big scam but whatever.

Very frustrating experience. I originally went to the East location, where they only purchased one item from everything I brought in. I then drove about 30 minutes out of my way to the West location with the remaining clothes, only to be told they wouldn’t purchase them because the items were supposedly more than two years old. I was also told that since I had already taken the clothes to the East location, I shouldn’t have brought them to the West location because they are “sister” stores. However, no one at the East location told me that I couldn’t take the items they passed on to the West location. I’m not from the area, which they could clearly see from my license, so I had no way of knowing this was supposedly an issue. I had several name-brand items and specifically made the extra drive thinking another location might have different inventory needs or buying preferences. Had I been told at the East location that the West location wouldn’t consider the same items, I obviously wouldn’t have wasted my time or gas driving there. I walked out extremely annoyed after going 30 minutes out of my way just to find this out. Between the lack of communication and inconsistent experiences I’ve had with Plato’s Closet, I’m getting to the point where I’ll avoid selling to them altogether and take my clothes elsewhere.

I was very disappointed with my experience. I brought in around 50 like-new and new-with-tags items from well-known and popular brands. Everything was clean, in excellent condition, and free of stains or noticeable wear. The employee only accepted 9 items and explained that they don’t take clothing more than two years old. What confused me was that the only pieces they did accept were actually some of my oldest items—over five years old—while many of my newer pieces were rejected. That made the explanation feel inconsistent and left me wondering what the actual buying criteria are. On top of that, the owner came across as rude, which made the experience even more frustrating. I understand that resale stores have to be selective, and I don’t expect everything to be accepted. I just wish the criteria had been applied consistently and communicated more respectfully. I hope this feedback helps others know what to expect before bringing in a large amount of clothing.

Rude staff. No attention to customers you’re lucky if you get greeted coming in
