I was the bride, and the only thing I regret about my wedding was hiring Elle & Co.
I don’t write negative reviews lightly, but after reflecting on our experience, I feel obligated to share it so other couples can make an informed decision.
Leading up to the wedding, communication was poor. Elle was frequently unresponsive for weeks at a time, and several items included in our contract only happened after we repeatedly followed up or reminded her. Instead of reducing our stress, we felt like we had to manage our own coordinator.
The wedding day was where things truly fell apart.
Much of what happened behind the scenes was shared with us afterward by multiple family members and friends, all of whom independently described very similar experiences.
Several family members volunteered their time to help with setup and cleanup. Rather than feeling appreciated, they told us they were treated more like hired labor than guests or loved ones. Multiple people said Elle barked orders at them, gave them “get to work” remarks when they tried to take brief breaks in the summer heat, and refused to let them have drinks that we had purchased specifically for the guests at the wedding. We were heartbroken to hear that the people who generously gave their time to make our wedding happen felt disrespected.
Our family also shared that Elle would frequently assign tasks, promise to help, and then disappear, leaving them to complete everything themselves.
Our officiant, who is a close family friend and traveled from out of town to perform our ceremony, also had an extremely negative experience. We were told that Elle took over the rehearsal, was dismissive toward the officiants input, and even instructed her to change parts of our ceremony script without consulting us, the bride and groom. Those unnecessary changes and the tension Elle created contributed to a ceremony that felt rushed and awkward compared to what we had planned.
Right before the ceremony was supposed to begin, everyone was ready to go and waiting on Elle, who had earlier at the rehearsal insisted on being in charge of timing. Guests were seated outside in the heat while no one could find her. The groom eventually located her, and she said she was going to use the restroom before starting the ceremony, causing everyone to wait even longer. She was even rude to our six-year-old flower boy when he didn’t understand when his turn was.
The interaction that disturbed us the most happened after cleanup. My brother and my 17-year-old cousin told us that, as they were leaving after volunteering all day, Elle stopped them and asked them to take her to the after-party. They both later told us they left feeling deeply uncomfortable because, in their words, it no longer felt like she was simply asking for a ride. They felt she was trying to get them to take her home with them after the event. My cousin was only 17 years old, and neither of them should have been put in a position where they felt pressured or uncomfortable by someone we had hired to coordinate our wedding.
I do want to note that the bartender and servers were great, and looking back I wish we had simply hired the event staff without Elle in the mix.
A wedding coordinator should make your day less stressful, not become another source of stress. Instead, we spent the days leading up to our wedding chasing down communication, and afterward we learned that many of the people we care about most—our family and friends—had left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and uncomfortable because of their interactions with our coordinator.
Looking back, hiring Elle & Co. added far more stress than it relieved, and it is genuinely the only regret I have about an otherwise wonderful wedding.

We hired Elle as the day-of coordinator for our wedding, and unfortunately our experience did not meet our expectations. Communication leading up to the wedding was inconsistent and nonexistent at times, and on the wedding day there were several issues that created unnecessary stress for us and our families.
As the wedding party was lined up and ready to begin the ceremony, I told Elle that we were ready. She replied, “Okay, I just need to go use the bathroom now.” The ceremony already felt delayed at this point, with the officiant having walked down the aisle and returning to see what was going on, all while leaving our guests waiting outside in the heat. While I understand that emergencies happen, this interaction was surprising given that the ceremony was ready to start and no contingency plan appeared to be in place.
Throughout the day, multiple members of both families independently shared negative experiences with the coordinator. Family members reported argumentative interactions, including disagreements with our officiant and the mother of the bride. We also learned that she asked the bride’s younger brother and her 17-year-old cousin where the after-party was, which we felt was inappropriate.
Weddings are complex, and I understand that unexpected issues can arise. However, we hired a day-of coordinator to help ensure the day ran smoothly and to reduce stress on our families. Instead, our experience was the opposite. Based on our firsthand experience, I cannot recommend this company for wedding coordination services.
