Brought in an old and very oxidized brass censor to get cleaned and gold plated. They said that they would be able to do that and quoted me around $1700. For the most part it turned out pretty nice and the gold plating looks good. But it seems like during their cleaning process they removed too much of the metal and now there are two gaping holes in the in the upper part. When I gave it to them the holes weren’t there. They didn’t tell me that they had issues with cleaning or plating it so I didn’t know that was going to happen. For how much they charged I feel they could’ve done better.

I took seven copper pans in for a recommendation regarding retinning them for $1100. Then I changed my mind due to the cost but when I called to cancel I was told the pans had been cleaned and shipped to a tinning company. However today when I picked up the pans it was clear that the pans had not been cleaned. Honestly I believe I was scammed so yet I was charged $55 for the shipping costs.

Zapffe Silversmiths repaired and restored our engraved 3 Lite Candelabras that were a gift presented to my father in law for his 25th anniversary as pastor of his church. They were in need of much repair. We received the restored candelabras yesterday. They are beautiful! The quality of work is amazing. We appreciate the attention to detail used in restoring one of our family's treasures.

They did a superb job on resilvering a antique hand mirror that belonged to my mother-in-law believed to be brought from Italy more than a century ago. ( Some things are worth it)
