I am writing to express my disappointment with today’s in-store experience
While trying on a cape at stores, I asked the sales(Julia) if a larger size was available. Instead of answering directly, she repeatedly insisted that the size SM was the most suitable for me. She also commented that a larger size would not look good on me and mentioned that no bigger sizes were available on the West Coast — that I would have to go to New York to find one.
Feeling pressured by her insistence, I ended up purchasing the SM size, even though I usually wear an XL. After returning home, I checked the official Max Mara website and found that the same cape is indeed available in ML. This left me both frustrated and confused, as it shows that a larger size does exist and could have been ordered or brought in for me to try.
I truly wish I had been given the opportunity to try the larger size in-store so I could make a proper comparison and see how it actually fits on me. The sales experience felt pushy and dismissive, as if the priority was to make a quick sale rather than help me find what suits me best.
As a customer, I value the quality and elegance that Max Mara represents, but this experience did not reflect that level of care and professionalism. I hope you will review this matter and remind your staff to provide more transparent, patient, and customer-focused service.

This store and brand is literally the WORST “luxury” brand store I’ve experienced. I went in with my girlfriend to buy her a coat and the sales associate was being extremely pushy to sell something even though it didn’t fit my gf the way she wanted. She also reminded us about the store policy about no refunds (only return for store credits) AS we were paying and she had my credit card in her hand.
My girlfriend went into the store a few days later to return the coat for credit as per store policy, and it was super clear the sales associate didn’t want to lose out her commission and pushed really hard for my gf to buy something else in store. When my gf refused and asked for store credit back, she said we can’t get the sales tax back in the store credit - unbelievably unprofessional and borderline illegal. How can there be a “sales” tax charged on a returned item??? Some other sales person corrected her on that, but on top of this she plain refused to tell us when the store credit is valid until, so I’m anticipating to run into more issues with this store in the near future when we try to use that credit. Extremely disappointed in Max Mara, and if it weren’t for the store “credit” whose expiry date is still a mystery to us, I would never go back to this store again.
I would highly recommend anyone trying to buy max mara to think it through if you REALLY want to buy it despite the chance of having to deal with what I dealt with.

Had a very bad experience here about a year ago but never wrote a review. I had bought a signature coat from the Chicago location and I visited the Bellevue store because I wasn’t sure abt the color. They talked me into buying the same coat in another color and told me I can return the one I bought from Chicago and I said what if Chicago don’t accept return and they said it’s fine you can return this one here. I specifically asked so i can return it right? And she said yes. After I’ve found out Chicago store only do exchanges, I went to this location and I wanted ti return the coat. Obviously I didn’t want to have 2 of the same coat. Then the manager who was very rude told me that it’s only exchange and I explained what her associate had told me and that I asked them couple times that I can return this or not and they said yes. They treated me very rude and after an hour of arguing she returned the coat!
Very dishonest ... don’t just lie to me because you wanna just sell your products!
