We are a family-owned business and avid coin collectors with over 30 years experience buying and selling gold, silver, rare coins, diamonds and jewelry.
Had some gold that was no longer an item that we wanted so watched the price of gold as it fluctuated over an extended period of time. At a seemingly high point I took it in to the Bellevue store and was given a price that they would pay me for it. I considered it to be a very fair offer which I accepted and then was given a check for the amount offered. The entire process took a very short amount of time.

I brought in jewelry to sell. The person I worked with walked away and told me I had to agree to the price he offered before he actually checked to see what karat everything was. He bulldozed me and lowballed me, I wish I would have felt I could push back and speak up for myself. I wanted to say no and walk away with the pieces I came in with but he was so fast about everything that I didn’t get a chance to. He wasn’t transparent about anything and I know I lost money in the process. The whole interaction felt shady and slimy and in the end made me mad at myself for not better advocating on my own behalf.
Update (response to owner’s response): Unfortunately the customer service specialist gave you an inaccurate description of our interaction. I worked one other time with someone at your location and my experience was radically different. He was very transparent, provided a lot of information and very clearly gave me an opportunity to consent or not. I was hoping for the same experience this time and was not met with that. This time the individual stepped away with my jewelry and told me I had to agree to the price before he checked the karats of the items I brought in. A friend went with me both times and also commented on the difference in the experiences and encouraged me to leave the review. I know she’d be happy to attest to my experience if needed.

Today was my first experience selling precious metals and I had a great experience. John was patient and low-key, and there was zero pressure to take their offer. It was an interesting process and John was kind enough to explain everything to me. It was fascinating to see how they tested the metals and valued each item. I’m super happy I decided to get rid of old jewelry and watches as I walked out with more than expected.

I needed to sell some scrap 14KT gold and after doing research, I decided to go here. I set an appointment for the afternoon. I was greeted by John upon entering and the experience was great from the start. I felt that I got a decent price for the approximately 42 grams that I was selling. John and his coworker Lukas were professional, courteous and friendly. I would recommend Bellevue Rare Coins to everyone!
