The staff rushed the breath test to the point where you nearly passed out trying to meet the required pressure. We were advice to only sit and blow. The staff couldn’t even pass.. standing up… We were ultimately told to obtain medical documentation verifying lung limitations in order to qualify for a lower-pressure interlock device. It was a waste of money and time. Then got a message saying we missed our appointment…. How? When you told us to get medical documentation during our ON TIME appointment. We decided to switch to LifeSafer instead, and we couldn't be happier with that decision. The customer service was impeccable from start to finish. Their staff was professional, understanding, and made the entire process much less stressful. I highly recommend LifeSafer to anyone needing an interlock system.

What do I need for removal?
Requirements will differ by state, but generally your state authority must grant removal authorization before you can have your IID removed. You will then need to fill out the Device Removal Request form on our website and upload any official documentation that may be required to authorize the removal.
Do I need an Interlock Device on all of my vehicles?
Some states will require that you have an Ignition Interlock Device installed on all cars registered to you, but most states will just require that whichever vehicle you drive have an IID installed. Check with your state authority to see if you will need an IID installed on all of your cars.

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
