I stopped in to purchase a replacement pair of Ray Bans. The selection was good, but I ultimately left without buying the pair I wanted because of the customer service. The sales associate never greeted me, and while I was browsing, she asked me to move so the customer she was assisting could use the display screen I was standing in front of to check her reflection, instead of using one of the many mirrors throughout the store. The interaction made me feel like my business wasn't valued, which was disappointing given the selection and my intention to leave with a purchase.

I had a really disappointing experience at this Sunglass Hut.
I came in around 3 PM in April with my brother, excited to finally treat myself to a nice pair of sunglasses for my 21st birthday. I’ve never really been able to afford higher-end brands like Ray-Ban before, so I was genuinely looking forward to the experience.
When we walked in, the employee was in the back on her phone, which didn’t bother me; I actually preferred having space to look around and try on different styles. But once she came out, the interaction quickly became uncomfortable. I let her know I was just browsing and comparing styles and prices, but within minutes she kept interrupting and hovering while I was trying things on. She pointed me toward the sale rack, which was fine, but before I even had a real chance to look. after trying on maybe two pairs; she asked again if I was finding anything. Then she made a comment that completely threw me off: she said that if the glasses were “too expensive,” I could try Food Lion or CVS down the street.
That felt incredibly disrespectful and unnecessary. I hadn’t even had time to properly browse, and it came across as judgmental and dismissive. I walked in ready to spend money and left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
I ended up leaving without buying anything, which is disappointing because I was genuinely excited to purchase a pair. What should have been a fun birthday experience turned into a negative one.
I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but I think it’s important to say something. Customers should be able to shop without feeling rushed or judged by their age or appearance.

Some years back I went in and bought a pair or Ray Ban glasses on sale for $200. The lady who worked there was really nice and helpful so that’s why I put 2 stars. I had them for a few years and I went to Ray Ban store at Virginia Beach Ocean Front to buy new lens for them. I was told by their manager that they were fake. I still had the receipt , case and bag for them and when I called the Sunglass Hut to speak to a manager letting them know what went on….I was not looking for a refund…. but the manager got nasty with me saying I was trying to get over on them and basically called me a liar. Very rude. Like I said I wasn’t looking for a refund and didn’t even mention one I was truly trying to let them know what had went on. That was the first and last time I had ever bought name brand glasses from a Sunglass Hut. I would have been better off buying fake ones from a flea market for $40 but haven’t done that since I was 12 lol! Just be careful buying glasses from them. Spend the extra $100 or so at the actual Brand store. I feel like someone might have bought the real pair and then returned them a fake pair and they sold it to me to make things right on their own end. So yes I was out $200 but like I said I’m more worried about the other customers who might be out a lot more then that.

The saleswoman was great and helped me with my new purchase as well as giving me directions about getting my other pair fixed.
Always a great pair of sunglasses, even when they need repair Maul Jim goes out of their way to help bring the pair of sunglasses back to perfection. I have worn them for over 20 years. I always seem to buy them when I look for another pair.
