  I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse location in Vienna, VA has a great selection of shoes and good prices, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. The staff overall were not accommodating at all. The only positive was one kind sales associate who took the time to guide me to the exact sections for the loafers and flats I was looking for and she was genuinely helpful and appreciated. Unfortunately, that was overshadowed by a rude interaction at the front. A middle-aged employee with short black and greyish hair was dismissive and repeatedly said “we are closed,” even dragging it out, rather than listening or offering any assistance when I explained I was ready to quickly grab my item and check out. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t return to this location.

  I don’t usually write reviews unless I’ve had either exceptional service or a really negative experience, but I felt this was worth sharing. I stopped by the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse recently in Vienna, VA and had already spent time in the store deciding on a pair of shoes. I stepped out briefly and came back right around closing, ready to quickly grab the item and check out. I completely understand and respect store hours, and I’m typically very mindful of not inconveniencing staff. However, the interaction at the front felt dismissive. As soon I walked in, the gentleman at the entrance (middle-aged, short black and greyish hair) wearing the DSW uniform repeatedly said “we are closed,” even dragging out his words and his emphasis, rather than listening or offering any kind of assistance after I explained I was ready to pay and knew exactly what I needed and I have mentioned to him “I am ready to pay, I know where the shoes are.” It was frustrating because I wasn’t browsing. I knew exactly what I wanted and was prepared to check out immediately. I’ve always liked DSW for their selection of comfort, style and prices and have bought numerous pairs before. I have also never shopped their last minute, this was just a one time occurance where I found I had time right after work, which made this experience especially disappointing. Because of how this was handled, I do not plan to return and will be purchasing my shoes elsewhere.

  I had a very disappointing experience at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse. I was in the store from 7:00–7:50 PM deciding between a pair of Clarks and Dr. Scholl’s shoes for work. A kind associate helped me find the loafer section, and after spending that time narrowing it down, I had to quickly step out to use the restroom at Dave’s Hot Chicken because I genuinely couldn’t wait any longer (the store doesn’t have one available). I asked the kind associate to hold it for me for I’ll be right back. I returned right at 8:00 PM knowing exactly which pair I wanted- the Clarks in size 7.5, which was the only pair left. I explained I just needed to grab them and check out quickly. Instead of helping, a middle-aged male employee stood at the front with his hands on his hips, repeatedly mouthing “we are closed” in an exaggerated and dismissive way. He refused to assist me or allow a quick purchase, even though I had just been shopping there minutes prior and was ready to pay. I looked toward the cashier side in desperation to see if they’ll just let me walk over and pay, but they all looked down as if they were afraid of what he would say. I understand store hours, but turning away a ready-to-pay customer, especially for the last available pair.. while being dismissive and unprofessional is incredibly frustrating. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider returning to this location.

  Garbage store. Finally found one pair of shoes and the sizes didn't match. So only one shoe in my size but missing the other shoe. Ridiculous.
