Truly disappointed with my recent visit!! I’ve been coming to this platos for 3 years now and have always had a great experience with them. As a sneaker collector I’ve found so many hidden gems and dope pairs here. Since I always buy sneakers, I tend to sell pairs I don’t wear to Plato’s. Today I had my mom bring in a bag of a couple newbalance that I haven’t worn since 2023. I went to go pick up and they told me they couldn’t take most of the pairs because I had to show proof of purchase. I was appalled because again, I’ve been selling and buying from them for years and not ONCE have I ever been asked to show proof of purchase at a thrift store. All in all it came across very rude and very racist, and it’s very sad to say that i will have to stop being them my business after this. Truly a terrible experience today.

Visited the store today with my teenage daughter, who had some things she wanted to get rid of, and we figured she could do so here.During the entire check-in process, the employee told my daughter to scan the barcode and follow the steps. Afterward, the employee said she needed an ID, so I pulled out my ID and presented it to her.
Fast-forward to when we came back to pick up the items and receive payment. Another employee asked for my ID. She was at the computer for a while, so I figured something was wrong. She then asked another employee for help. They said they didn’t see my name.I explained, “It’s under my daughter’s name.”
That’s when the employee got snooty and said, “Next time, don’t let her fill out the form. You have to do it yourself.”I said, “Well, then your coworker, who was less than two feet away from me, should’ve said that.” She was literally looking directly at us throughout the entire process!
How about y’all prioritize properly informing your employees about the correct protocols and procedures instead of telling the customer what they should do “next time”—especially when your own employee was standing right there watching the entire process?
Don’t ‘next time’ me, because I’ll snap back quick!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Rudest staff and didn’t even greet or help me when I came to sell clothes. Literally gave me $4 for 1 thing and I came with 3 bags of nice brands and waited 45 mins. What a joke. Just sell on depop, yard sale or even uptown cheapskate down the road.
