- MDMary Douthat1 day ago2.0I went by this Cabela’s in Gainesville to buy a gift . Everything went smoothly up until check out . I was carrying some $100 bills . There was a girl working who I overheard talking about my payment method with another employee . The girl then rudely asked me “Why are you carrying so many $100 bills ?” I told her I just prefer to use cash for my personal budgeting . She went “hmm” and gave me a disapproving look . I was asked if I have cards or smaller bills . I’m not sure what her problem is but she needs to stop that . She made me uncomfortable

The store was clean, well organized, and had a great selection of products. Customer service went above and beyond, and I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality outdoor gear and a great atmosphere.
- TKTony KMay 9, 20261.0Ordered a pistol online and used this cabelas as my FFL. My local FFL, Warrenton pawn and gun, wasn't listed at my purchasing site. Called cabelas several times to get the FFL transfer fee. Only to have the phone ring several minutes then disconnect. Used them thinking it would be somewhere around the normal $25-$35. To my surprise, it was $75. And it took an hour after I was first in queue. I was even given a suggestion by a gun counter employee to use other FFLs closer to my home, which are less expensive. Will never shop here again nor will I ever recommend this store to anyone, not even enemies. Would give negative stars if possible.

- MWMeagan WallaceMay 2, 20265.0My husband and I visited the store in Gainesville,VA and the gun counter 2 weekends in a row and were helped by Ryan both times he spent at least 45 mins letting us hold multiple firearm to see what we were both comfortable with. My husband decided on an 9mm echelon and after today's visit we realized that I like the sig sauer p322 which will most likely me my first firearms puchase.
