JCPenney at Fair Oaks Mall is a good store to shop in. During my visit on a busy weekend, the store was clean, well organized, and easy to navigate. Surprisingly, it wasn't overly crowded
They offer a wide selection of apparel, shoes, makeup and beauty products, small household appliances, kitchen utensils, and other everyday items. The cashier was very friendly and helpful.
Price-wise, I think the value is reasonable for the quality you receive, especially when it comes to JCPenney's own brands and the brands under its umbrella. They often provide a good balance between affordability and quality. Plus, most of the time there is a store specific discount that you can easily use during your check out.
I hope stores like this continue to thrive and attract more customers. While online shopping is convenient, there is still something valuable about being able to see products in person, feel the fabric, check the quality, and get a true sense of size and fit before making a purchase. Traditional department stores continue to offer an experience that simply cannot be fully replicated on a screen.

Nonexistent Customer Service. They could not care less. I have been trying to buy Blinds here for six months. First registers didn’t work for three months. Now you cannot find anyone to help you. There’s one cash register, and they all like to hang out there. Nine people behind the registers three running registers and 17 people in line. Might as well just close the store down. Shop with your dollars.

I just had the absolute worst customer service experience in this store. While the original associate was pleasant, “Pam”, who came to assist was anything but. She was rude from the very beginning of our interaction, without even knowing the issue. She asked if I called the “800” number for an issue o mentioned, but couldn’t give me the actual number she was referring to. Instead she told me that my only option was to call credit services and let them transfer me. How ridiculous is that!?
I’ve been a loyal customer for over a decade but this situation is making me reconsider. Oh, and I was told that Pam is HR/assistant store. Apparently the store manager just started a 10 day vacation, so I’ll have to wait to speak to him about this nonsense. There is so much more, but I’d rather not write a book.
I don’t often leave reviews and when I do I try to make them neutral/positive, but this needed to be shared without trying to pretty it up.
I had such a rude experience this afternoon in the home department. I was waiting in the checkout line and a second register opened. As I was the next person in line, I approached the register. The employee completely ignored me and pretended I wasn't there. His colleague next to him at the other register asked if he was going to help me out, to which he responded "No, I'll take care of my customers," and pointed to the customers behind me in line. I was forced back into the line after I had patiently waited my turn. The employee refused to check me out but checked out the customers BEHIND me. This was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Other customers in the store saw this situation occur and they apologized to me on behalf of the disrespectful employee.
