Please do not support the business Plato's Closet in Sterling, they are mean and gossip about the customers, They criticize customers and other employees, They judge customers and employees and they are just flat out rude and mean. There clothing racks are in a small store and everything is squished together and very unorganized, so it is hard to find stuff and clothes your looking for. They deny services based on personal issues and matters and these are the many reasons why you should not go here.

I really enjoy shopping at this location and have been coming several years. I live in Bristow and pass two other locations but this one in Sterling has the best promotions. I like their brands that I normally don't see else where. I'm going to start bringing my stuff to sell knowing that they have to be very choosy for their clients. Hopefully I can be a regular buyer/seller there.

I expected this bt wanted to give Plato's Closet a chance. Brought in two bags of shoes and clothes and they took a couple hours to review - think I only went knowing their system because my offer was nearby. After a bit of wait they registered (drivers license then text follow up) After a few hours they texted me to come back and they took one Tommy Hilfiger shirt for $4.90 (as they don't have change I got a whipping $5). Having read reviews I left the real valie behind (vintage purses - they were VERY interested but I said first let me see how you operate - I mentioned their reviews from folks bringing things in have been brutal). Can only confirm this is not a place to bring stuff. Inattentive, rude staff, a system to waste your time, and no interest in much (and what they buy they stiff you on). I purposely left Re-Loveit Consignment store for second knowing the designer purse stash was probably going there (though I made sure to check around and lower quality designer purses were available at hefty prices (probably 4x what they offer - better route is consignment and 55/45 split with incentives aligned). If they offered a fair price for more (a few photos attached, more Tommy Hilfiger (indeed a ski jacket), Under Armor and Levi's jeans brands - photos attached - of no interest!!!! I looked around and what was on display was INFERIOR than what I offered. Even shoes of no interest (again though they had plenty of junk). As I expected avoid the joint. Nobody will sell anything and head to Purcellville. I will separately review Relove-it with the big focus being designer bags via consignment vs listed online (as many friends swear to - Vinted getsca shout out). Like ReLove-it one can see a price and say no. Obviously if one buys rather than consignment success comes from low-balling. Avoid, especially for sales, a waste of time! Consignment - online or at a consignment store is way to go. I also suggest - taking a view of quality that you not even shop here. Full of lower quality ("designer") merchandise but not the best so bargain hunters buying second rate brand names. As someone else said (and it is right next door) TJMaxx has bad designer names at a discount. You are MUCH better off there. Know Plato's Closet is franchised but if corporate cares about its reputation it probably wants to train the owner of this forlorn location. Despite wasting my time, as a Level 8 Local Guide (who generally loves local owned businesses) my consolation is to warn folk. AVOID. I do not expect this store here very long, as the approach is being revealed (I encourage you to read other reviews, especially the other critical ones). If no one wants to supply then no future - at least TJMaxx is getting surplus from manufacturers. Much better route. If you get to this plaza and walk over go right to TJ Maxx and don't waste your time or good cash on Playo's Closet. Very disappointing as location near where I worked had me dreaming of a long term, win-win relationship, but not meant to be. Pride alone woukd have this be the last time I step inside. SAD!!! 😞 Zero if I coukd, 1 is generous.

Couldn't have had a better experience!! I didn't know Plato's Closet had a 2-bag per person policy, so I had come with 6 bags of clothes. I told them that I would just donate the bags because I wasn't able to come back multiple days in a row. They were busy that day, but one of the employees was super sweet to take my name and number in case they had extra time that day to sort through the items and let me know if they would want to purchase anything. They took about 3 hours before giving me a call letting me know I could come back in. They took 73 of my items (most of it was Lululemon, Levis, Princess Polly etc), and I was very happy with their offer. Shout out Katie and Ronnie for being the best!!!
