Tuel has a beautiful selection of jewelry. More importantly, top tier service. The owner, Mary is one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet.

I brought my own .925 sterling silver ring to this jeweler for custom gold plating. I explicitly specified the micron thickness required, which the jeweler confirmed she could do. Within 10 weeks of light wear (removing it before handwashing, showering, and sleeping) the gold plating had worn off almost completely. The jeweler quickly handed me a refund. I asked her what happened, and she attributed it to my "lifestyle." I asked her to explain and she cited handwashing, which of course this ring had not been subjected to. I researched this later and found that a proper plating job at the specified thickness should not erode in 2.5 months of light wear. I would not recommend this business for custom plating work.

I brought in my Hamilton H-21 automatic chronograph because it was running over 30 seconds per day slow and the chronograph hour hand no longer reset to zero, sitting about 5 degrees off. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. Rather than feeling like my concerns were taken seriously, I felt they were dismissed. I was told that losing over 30 seconds per day was normal and that expecting better accuracy was unreasonable. My other Hamilton watches have all been regulated elsewhere to around +1 to +3 seconds per day. I was also told the chronograph hand wasn’t actually misaligned and that the dial had been “painted wrong” from the factory, even though the zero marker is printed exactly at the 12 o’clock position and the hand had previously reset correctly. Since this is a well-known issue with this type of movement, I found that explanation extremely difficult to believe. I completely understand if a repair is outside a shop’s capabilities. I would have just appreciated being told that, rather than being talked down to and made to feel like my concerns were unreasonable. I brought in a watch with two legitimate service concerns hoping for knowledgeable guidance. Instead, I left feeling dismissed, and unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Left my watch for the face and a screw that had broken off, I sent in someone else to pick my watch up for me.. I picked it up today the face had been replaced which is perfect, but I had seen some scratches that I didn’t see when I dropped it off, (understandably if I scratched it up that bad then oh well that’s on me) but the screw that had broken off had not been replaced, and said it was “polished” when I called and asked about the scratches she got defensive and basically told me that it was all my fault also said “no good deeds go unpunished , and then just had to say “ she shouldn’t have polished it and left it looking bad “ wild you say that to costumers 😂 never had a problem with her before, but all of a sudden I ask about the scratches and also said like hey if those were there when I dropped them off then it’s all good, and I’d like the broken screw fixed…. Thanks for the refund This doesn’t look polished to me…
