- RVRachel VeresSep 18, 20243.0Great customer service experience via email. However, I was charged $10 to ship paint cards (which I assume are free at the store, but it seemed fair to charge a little since there was service required). They came inside an envelope inside a box. I'm not sure why I couldn't have been charged the cost of an envelope and postage and saved a box.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pigment Paint Supply
Is Pigment Paint Supply locally owned?
Yes. Pigment Paint Supply is a locally owned paint store in Charlottesville serving homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, designers, contractors, and professional painters across Central Virginia. We are committed to delivering expert guidance, quality products, and personalized service that exceeds what larger retail chains can offer.
What paint brands does Pigment Paint Supply carry?
Pigment offers a carefully selected range of premium and professional paint brands, including Farrow & Ball, Farrell-Calhoun, Good Bones Paint, Centurion Wood Coatings, along with other specialty products and painting supplies.
What is Good Bones Paint?
Good Bones Paint is a paint line developed by the owner of Pigment Paint Supply, drawing on extensive hands-on industry knowledge to create products designed for real-world painting applications. Pigment is the ideal location to explore Good Bones products, colors, applications, and determine which options best suit your project needs.
Can Pigment help me choose a paint color?
Yes. Selecting a color from a small sample can be more challenging than expected. Our staff can assist in narrowing down color choices based on your space, lighting conditions, existing finishes, design goals, and the aesthetic you want to create.
Can you help me figure out what type of paint or finish I need?
Yes. You are not expected to understand the distinctions between various paints, primers, sheens, or coatings before visiting our store-that is our role. Describe what surface you are painting and its required durability, and we will recommend the appropriate products.
Do I need to be a professional painter to shop at Pigment?
No. Pigment welcomes everyone from homeowners completing their first DIY room project to interior designers and professional painting contractors. We provide guidance tailored to your experience level and project requirements.
Do professional painters and contractors shop at Pigment?
Yes. Pigment stocks professional-grade coatings, tools, supplies, and specialty products suitable for painters and contractors. Our staff possesses knowledge of both product specifications and application techniques, allowing us to offer informed recommendations for professional work.
Can Pigment match an existing paint color?
Yes. Provide us with a sample of the color you need to replicate, and our staff can assist with color matching and recommend the suitable product and finish for your project.
What's the connection between Pigment Paint Supply and Piedmont Paint & Finish?
Pigment Paint Supply and Piedmont Paint & Finish are sister companies operating under shared local ownership. This relationship provides Pigment with a distinct advantage: direct insight into both the products we carry and their performance in actual painting and finishing applications.
Why shop at Pigment instead of a big-box paint department?
Paint is our specialty. Rather than navigating an aisle attempting to identify which product, primer, finish, or tool suits your needs, you can consult with knowledgeable staff who work with paint daily. Our objective is ensuring you receive the correct products for your project, not simply completing a transaction.
