  As someone who actually lives a few blocks away, Westpost (or Pentagon Row, as most of us still accidentally call it) is basically the neighborhood’s living room. It’s not trying to be a massive destination mall like the Fashion Centre across the street, and that’s honestly why it works. On any given weeknight, it’s full of people doing the standard post-work shuffle—grabbing a drink at Nighthawk, walking their dogs around the plaza, or ducking into Harris Teeter for last-minute dinner ingredients. In the summer, the outdoor patio seating is packed, and kids end up running through the plaza fountain. In the winter, they turn the middle section into an ice rink, which gets crowded, but it’s hard to complain when you can grab a hot drink and watch the chaos. It’s got a solid mix of low-key food spots. *Lebanese Taverna Market: The real local secret. Great for grabbing quick shawarma or picking up dips and flatbreads. Nighthawk Brewery & Pizza: Perfect spot to catch a game or hang out on a Friday after work. It’s super convenient—especially being right near the Pentagon City Metro—but it’s not without its quirks. Parking in the garage is fine once you know the layout, but driving down S. Joyce Street on a Saturday afternoon is a nightmare you want to avoid. Also, because it's right in the middle of all the high-rises, it can feel a bit like a transit corridor during peak commute hours. Overall, it’s just a ridiculously practical, comfortable spot to have in your backyard. It handles the everyday errands without feeling sterile, and there’s almost always a decent spot to sit outside with a beer.

  Allowing smoking, or not being clear about your smoking policies, in an area frequented by families and children is disgraceful. If your policies have changed, that should be communicated clearly. Security hired by the property knows none of your rules btw. Visitors should not have to deal with the smell of cigars while trying to enjoy the space. Disgusting.
