a lot of the clothes they sell are questionable and not cute. i’ve brought in a lot of nice pieces to sell and they don’t take any of them. maybe it’s store policy or maybe the buyer has poor taste. i would not come here to shop or sell unless i absolutely HAD to.

Complete waste of my time. I brought in two full bags of clothes, most of them in excellent condition, barely worn, and some still in their original boxes. After going through everything, Plato's Closet only bought five items and offered me just $22 total.
One of the five items was a pair of Michael Kors high heels that are worth much more than what they paid me. It feels like they only gave me a few dollars for them so they could turn around and resell them for a much higher price.
What really bothered me was being told that most of my clothes weren't good enough to buy, yet I looked around the store and saw worn-out and torn shoes on the shelves. That makes no sense. Their standards seem very inconsistent.
I thought Plato's Closet was supposed to be a place to resell quality secondhand clothing, but it felt like they were looking for reasons to reject almost everything while paying as little as possible for the few items they did take.
I ended up donating the rest of my clothes because I wasn't going to carry two full bags back home. Save yourself the trip if you're expecting a fair evaluation or reasonable payout. I won't be coming back.

I literally called the place asking a question if they were taking a certain type of jean I was trying to sell and they immediately hung up.

Buyer beware **** I will never shop at Plato’s tyler again. I was there a week ago and pick out about 20 items from the sale they are having and had to put about 6 things back bc I found holes or stains. I went to check out and I told the lady about it but she just didn’t care. I told her I wanted to look over the clothes again that I was buying bc of this and she seemed annoyed. I had to take out 6 MORE items I found with stains and holes in them. When I got home I found 2 more stains and one hole in 2 of the things I ended up buying. I also found SHEIN and Walmart’s brand clothes! I was told they don’t accept things from Walmart or with holes or stains but apparently the ppl that work there and the owner doesn’t care about that. So don’t shop there but if you have some old stained up clothes go to tyler Plato’s bc they will give you money for your trash items !!!
