- MMMa MAug 24, 20261.0I have been a Nordstrom shopper for years, decades even! My experience yesterday was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. My son had a soccer tournament nearby, so we stopped in between games to look at kids’ shoes. He was in his soccer uniform, and I was dressed like a soccer mom who had been sitting outside in the heat for a couple of hours. I looked a little disheveled but not homeless. While we were browsing, an older sales associate just stood there follow and staring at us…giving us prolonged side eye. No hello, no offer to help just staring and looking at up and down with a look of disdain. I obviously don’t know what she was thinking, but it made me feel like we were being watched or judged rather than welcomed. It was such a strange and uncomfortable interaction. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. A simple hello would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Note to principals: You need have some manager like her if you want to meet the goals in your business.
