  For the most part, I don’t like shopping for myself. Love taking my high school age kids shopping but…I just don’t like to shop for myself unless online. I was in the area and needed some shorts and shirts. I decided to visit JC Penny. From the moment I walked in the front door, there was an atmosphere of friendliness. As I worked my way through the men’s department, I was greeted multiple times with big smiles and a genuine care for customers. During checkout, a young lady named Alora was fabulous. Thanks TEAM JC Penny San Marcos 🤠

  We found everything my son needed for prom in his size. The people could be friendlier, but the store was very tidy and there was plenty of items available.

  After lunch today I drove over to JC Penney. A manager greeted me as the wind blew me inside. I fixed my hair, pulled out a cart and started the long way to robes and perfumes. Clothing areas are kept in order and I love all the Spring Clothes, especially the sundresses! I wandered over to bedding to see what is there. Bedspreads are my downfall. I saw a grey and white queen - sized quilt and 2 shams on sale $26.99, originally $74. I put one in the cart. Robes are to the knee. I wanted a long one. I go to perfumes, all display with prices on a card on lowered right bottom shelf. But I see boxed perfume offerings on tables in middle of the aisle. I see one boxed perfumes. I go to ask the male attendant about it. He tells me" While the 8 bottles inside are tiny, it's a good deal at $29, because there's a $20 discount coupon inside whereby you can choose one of your choice from the box's brands later" Brands are Ariana Grande Lovenotes, Eternity, Coach Dream Moonlight, Viva La Juicy, Kate Spade, Kenzo Flower, Germain Sexoal, Tous Kaos. Some I know. Some I don't. I opened the box today and I have 8 tiny glass tubes of the above. The tubes don't stand up. These tubes used to be samples the store would hand out. A gold color atomizer comes with the box. I assume it's to pour the small tube in it and then spray this way. But this means only one tube at a time. The $20 coupon is inside. It's good from May 1 2026 to October 9 2026 and entitles one" $20 off select full- sized products featured in the fragrance vault. " It's goes on to say " what and when the discount does not apply." I put a dab of Eternity on each ear. I remembered the one I used as being light in color and sweet in smell. This tube fragrance is dark in color and is named AMBER. That's why it has a strong smell. I don't care if the bottles are tiny because with perfumes I just do a small dab on each ear. This evening May 6, 2026, I discovered that 2 sample tubes have twist off tops and therefore each one can be poured into the gold atomizer to be used this way. However, the 6 other sample tubes have their built- in atomizers. And guess what ? None of these 6 atomizers sprayed ! I phoned Penney's Headquarters in Plano, Texas, and told the customer rep " This is a rip- off, as Penneys is selling tiny tubes that used to be free samples in the store. And now 6 small tubes' atomizers don't work. I'm paying for 2 tiny tubes and a gold atomizer for $29.95 plus tax." She told me, " i will notify Penneys, so they won't do it next year." She also said " To bring in everything, box, tubes, gold atomizer, and receipt to store and I will notify the store you are coming in." Well I threw out the box last week in the garbage bin. I told her too " I have been a Penney's customer when the store was at Springtown." My lesson is learned. One can't believe what is offered. I wish to add a positive note and that concerns the queen- sized bedspread and its 2 shams. I washed them before l used them. And there is no shrinkage. There's ample coverage on all sides. My cat loves sitting on it ! The young attendant was friendly and told me " My father and I make jewelry." I told him about festivities around towns' courthouses where artists can setup booths and sell their wares. I also asked him," Does Penney carry shoe polish ? " He looked it up, but they don't. I told him what I'm using as a substitute on my SAS coffee- colored shoes. It was a very pleasant outing. The only negative outcome are the tiny perfume tubes.
