  Had a horrible experience at Half Price Books. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes after bringing in over 50 books, all in excellent, like-new condition, only to be offered $24.99 for the entire lot. One of the biggest frustrations was that you’re expected to stay in the store the entire time while your books are being evaluated. There was a huge line of books waiting to be processed, yet customers aren’t given the option to leave and come back. It would make much more sense for employees to label each customer’s books with their name and phone number and call or text when the offer is ready instead of making people wait for hours. The employees who evaluated my books and presented the offer were unprofessional and rude. The only positive part of my visit was the cashier at the register, who was kind and helpful. Unfortunately, everyone else I interacted with made the experience unpleasant. If you’re thinking about selling your books, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Don’t expect fair customer service or a worthwhile offer here. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I won’t be returning.

  Very good selection of books. Feels like a new book store. Extensive kids section. Also has some rare and collectible books available. Also a selection of vinyl records.

  Found every book my daughter needed for her english class. Got one the day we went just waiting for the others to be transferred here.

  If you enjoy books, this place is a treasure. They have a huge selection of used books across just about every genre, and it’s easy to lose track of time browsing the shelves. You never know what hidden gem you’ll come across. The prices are very reasonable, the store is well organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I also appreciate that buying used books gives great stories a second life while making reading more affordable. Whether you’re looking for a specific title or just enjoy exploring, this is a wonderful bookstore that’s well worth a visit. Highly recommended!

  Half Price Books is generally cheaper than buying brand-new retail, but whether it is the cheapest option depends on what you are buying. Their used books are usually priced at 50% or less of the publisher's cover price, though new releases and rare collectibles may have smaller discounts. HPB's clearance shelves are always worth checking out too. Often the things put on clearance are really great but the store was just sent an overabundance of the titles from the publisher or got too many from public buys.
