I TOLD THE ASSOCIATE THAT I DIDN’T WANT THE REFUND PUT ON MY CREDIT CARD THAT I WANTED ON A SEPARATE CARD ON STORE CREDIT AND SHE ENDED UP REFUNDING IT STRAIGHT BACK TO MY CREDIT CARD AND SAYING THAT THE SYSTEM DID IT SHITTY SERVICE

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the JCPenney Portrait Studio in Pearland, TX.
We had newborn and family portraits scheduled for Sunday, April 19th at 4:45 PM. When we arrived, there was no one at the counter to greet us, and several other families were also waiting without any communication or direction. After waiting, an employee finally came out around 5:00 PM and, without greeting anyone, immediately announced in a very rude and irritated tone that they were behind schedule.
She then singled us out and stated that because we were not there exactly at 4:45 PM, she would not honor our appointment—despite the fact that someone from the studio had told us earlier that there was a 5-minute grace period. Her demeanor was dismissive, confrontational, and unprofessional. Instead of taking accountability, she blamed the customers for the delays.
This was supposed to be a special and memorable newborn photo session for our first child, and her behavior completely ruined the experience. There was no warmth, no care, and no effort to make the situation right—only negativity and poor customer service. We chose to leave because we were not willing to have such an important moment rushed or handled by someone with such a nasty attitude.
This experience resulted in wasted time and a missed opportunity to capture precious memories. I strongly believe this employee needs additional training or reassignment, as she is not suited for a role that involves such meaningful family moments.
We will absolutely be taking our business elsewhere.

The employee that was at the customer service desk was very nice and calm. He was dealing with a more difficult situation and needed his manager. Leonard came over to help him, and then asked if I was just doing a return which I said yes and Leonard said his employee would be right with him. It was a very slow day on the store, but it took 10 more minutes for the employee to wrap up with the customer he was working with. It would have been nice if Leonard helped me instead of just making shelves look nice.
I used to work retail, managers helping out even on slow days was always very nice for the employees.
