  Racist employee on changing room counter during tax free weekend. Tried to handle with manager, Elissa who kept interrupting me and finally hung up on me. No empathy for how hurtful that was. Just trying to get rid of me. $184 spent in the store to be treated with racism by the changing room girl while I'm standing there with my broken back and twins and she helped others first while mean mugging me for no apparent reason. I was at the cou ter alone for a minute while she looked annoyed. Someone not of my "race" walked up behind me and the worker immediately helped her first. I kept trying to be sweet to let it go smooth and she mocked me more. Not one more dime. I will be going in to see who the changing room girl's name though and just who she is. 👀 I guess she didn't know I'm a Spanish speaker too. Happened 8/8/26 7:48pm on checkout receipt. Now I see in the comments others have had similar experiences. Wow. What a trashy place. Btw, Elissa's phone reply, "Well what is it you want from this conversation?" What an incredibly unprofessional question in the first place. Why call customer service ever? Ummm ma'am, some empathy, not being interrupted, definitely the girl fired, but obviously now I just want my money back and your store to fail like it should. You fired too, Elissa, that would be stellar.

  My daughter is dragging me to all these different thrift shops. I don't know what's so thrifty about it. Im not having any thrift myself, but my daughter seems to be having the time of her life.

  Checked out the store for the first time today.David explained the buying/selling process to me and overall was very helpful. Will be back.

  You are better off haggling with someone on Facebook because you will actually get some money. I brought in 3 totes and two of them had not even been looked at they looked exactly how I had dropped them off.

  David Antiso is, without a doubt, one of the best leaders I've had the pleasure of interacting with. His professionalism, positive attitude, and ability to lead by example are immediately apparent. He creates an environment where both customers and team members feel welcomed, valued, and supported. I've also had the opportunity to see David perform at the Texas Tech orientation, and his leadership truly stands out. He has a natural ability to engage with people, communicate clearly, and bring positive energy to every interaction. It's obvious he cares deeply about the people around him and takes pride in representing his team and organization with excellence. Plato's Closet is incredibly fortunate to have someone like David on staff. Exceptional customer service is hard to find these days, but David consistently goes above and beyond. If you're looking for a store with outstanding leadership and an employee who genuinely makes a difference, this is the place to go. Keep up the amazing work, David!
