  If zero stars were allowed, that’s what I would rate this place. My mom and I went to Plato’s closet in Lubbock tonight and one of the cashiers which turned out to be one of the managers asked “is she going to pay for whatever is in her purse?” I turned around and looked at my mom and it was literally her blue hair scrunchie sticking out of her purse. I told her to take it out of her purse and she put it on her hair but the cashier didn’t apologize after clearly being mistaken. The least she could have done was apologize after assuming she was stealing and being completely wrong. That’s a pretty hefty accusation. I was clearly in shock and I’m beating myself up for not standing up for her in the moment. I honestly don’t know what to think but I will never be shopping there again. Literally cried the entire way home once it all set in. The whole situation was handled poorly. The manager called me back and had a poor excuse and said “people hang items from their purse all the time.” I then responded “Okay but the scrunchie was inside her purse and you assumed it was a shirt that she had placed INSIDE her purse.” She then responded with a stupid answer, “I didn’t look inside her purse.” At that point I was done with her because we were clearly getting nowhere. I do not recommend shopping at this establishment. I will not be returning myself.

  My daughter is dragging me to all these different thrift shops. I don't know what's so thrifty about it. Im not having any thrift myself, but my daughter seems to be having the time of her life.

  You are better off haggling with someone on Facebook because you will actually get some money. I brought in 3 totes and two of them had not even been looked at they looked exactly how I had dropped them off.

  David Antiso is, without a doubt, one of the best leaders I've had the pleasure of interacting with. His professionalism, positive attitude, and ability to lead by example are immediately apparent. He creates an environment where both customers and team members feel welcomed, valued, and supported. I've also had the opportunity to see David perform at the Texas Tech orientation, and his leadership truly stands out. He has a natural ability to engage with people, communicate clearly, and bring positive energy to every interaction. It's obvious he cares deeply about the people around him and takes pride in representing his team and organization with excellence. Plato's Closet is incredibly fortunate to have someone like David on staff. Exceptional customer service is hard to find these days, but David consistently goes above and beyond. If you're looking for a store with outstanding leadership and an employee who genuinely makes a difference, this is the place to go. Keep up the amazing work, David!
