  We are In this store right now day before Father’s Day at 2023. There were 4 workers playing around one male standing in jewelry looking and one cashier checking out people by herself and it’s 6 people in line.

  The employee at the register kept trying to get me to sign up for a credit card after already declining three times. I said no once again and she was like “why not? You’ll save money!” Uhhh because I just don’t want to? Makes it hard to want to shop there again when I know I’ll be harassed with their sales tactics.

  This place is incredible. Always has great deals, and great selections. But the main reason I'm giving a 5 star review is the service. Mary and Tom are amazing, wonderful people. Not pushy like a lot of these sorry stores. They r both so helpful when i walk in. I will shop here for the next 25 years because of them. Thanku. You r very welcome. I meant everything i said. Absolutely incredible store. And kindness goes along way. Amazing staff. But Mary and Tom r great people

  I’ve dealt with this employee at JCPenney before and tried to give the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe she was just having a bad day the first time. Unfortunately, my experience today was even worse.( Her name started with a C and she was an elder black lady The only one there if that helps) I came in to return a few shirts, and from the moment she took my items, her attitude was rude and unprofessional. She was aggressively tossing my clothes across the counter while scanning them, mumbling under her breath, and never once greeted me or spoke respectfully. I believe her name was Cecilia. The return should have been simple, but she repeatedly gave me the wrong return amount and insisted one of the shirts was missing a tag when it clearly was not. She first said my return total was around $15 when it should have been closer to $35. Even after attempting the transaction multiple times, she still could not process it correctly. What really crossed the line was when she suddenly walked away from the register during my transaction and loudly shouted, “I can’t do that no more,” even though I had done absolutely nothing disrespectful toward her. I remained calm the entire time. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she became disruptive and made the entire experience uncomfortable and embarrassing. (I would recommend for the District manager/general manager to check the camera) I spoke with the manager, Cecilia in the green shirt, and explained that this was not my first negative interaction with this employee. Another employee had to step in and take over the transaction because she walked off. While the manager said she would “take care of it” there was no genuine apology for the behavior, and the response honestly made it seem like this kind of conduct was acceptable. The one bright spot in this experience was Tom. He was extremely kind, professional, patient, and respectful throughout the interaction. Compared to everyone else involved, he stood out immediately for actually treating customers with courtesy. JCPenney needs more employees like Tom because he handled the situation far better than the others did. At the end of the day, customer service and professionalism matter. Age is not an excuse for disrespectful behavior, poor communication, or making customers feel uncomfortable during a simple return. Management should hold employees accountable and do a much better job when it comes to leading their team.
