  I’ve been buying Ralph Lauren for years, so I purchased three boxes of T-shirts in size Large without hesitation. After opening two boxes to try them on, I realized the shirts were unusually long—almost reaching my knees—even though the width fit me well. I returned to the store immediately with my receipt and asked to exchange them for size Medium, but I was told that because the boxes had been opened, they could not be exchanged under the store’s policy. The only item I was able to exchange was the unopened box. I understand that policies exist, but there should be some flexibility when a product’s fit is clearly different from previous purchases. Spending $180 and leaving with items I can’t wear was very disappointing.

  I love this location is the best. Lots of varieties and very welcoming feelings. My usual associate Ms.T is always helpful for my shopping. Even my kids loves her. Looking forward to visiting again !

After application of the purported 30% discount, the final price is merely equivalent to Macy’s regular full price. What, then, is the purpose of the Polo Ralph Lauren Outlet Store and its purported 30% discount? This appears to constitute a deceptive and misleading pricing practice intended to cause customers to believe they are receiving a 30% discount when, in fact, they are paying the equivalent of the regular full price. This type of representation creates false urgency, draws customers into the store under the pretense of substantial savings, and induces purchases based on a discount that appears illusory rather than genuine. As a matter of federal law, advertising is unlawful if it is false or misleading in a material respect. The FTC states that advertising must be truthful and not misleading, and that deceptive pricing practices fall within its consumer-protection authority. The FTC’s pricing guidance specifically addresses misleading “former price” and comparison-price claims. Under Texas law, false, misleading, or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of trade or commerce are unlawful under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act (“DTPA”), Tex. Bus. & Com. Code § 17.46.
