To be clear, this is not a knock on Express. I love Express. This is specifically about the management and customer service at the Stonebriar location.
My online order was supposed to be in-store pickup, but the system changed it to ship-to-store. Express.com showed it had arrived Thursday, so I came in Friday to pick it up. I wasn’t greeted, then was told the order wasn’t there.
The shipping mix-up was frustrating, but Matt, the manager, made the experience much worse. His responses included, “Are you done?” and “What do you want me to do? We don’t have it!”
Mistakes happen. Being dismissive and condescending to a customer is a choice.
I love Express, but I’ll be shopping at the NorthPark or Galleria locations from now on.
Been shopping at express since it was Structure. Great store! Always great deals, especially if you have their coupons. Still a fashionable spot in my opinion! Staff is always so friendly and helps as s needed.

This morning around 10:00 am, I went to Express to return a shirt. I had bought 3 shirts ($50 each) for BOGO 50% off. So that’s 2 full price, and 1 half price. The shirt that I was returning was rung up second in the original purchase, so the 50% discount was applied to that shirt, and the store would not issue a full refund, despite my having purchased 2 shirts at full price. I asked if there was a manager who could override the computer, and the assistant manager told me no. This was of course upsetting, and the assistant manager did not seem to understand the problem nor was she sympathetic to the situation. Another employee understood the problem and I said “Thank you for understanding math,” to which the assistant manager (taking offense) replied “That’s not nice. I hope you pray.” Then later said, “I’m not dumb. This is why I have this position” (or something similar). Because it was apparent that the situation was not going to be resolved, I agreed to take the lower return price, and the assistant manager completed my return (clearly upset), after which I asked if I needed to sign anything. She did not respond, turned away, threw a stapler on the counter, and walked away. The employee on shift with her kindly apologized for the situation. My hope is that someone can work with the assistant manager on her customer relation skills.
I had a very disappointing experience at the Express store in Stonebriar Mall. I went in to return a jacket, and the staff insisted it had already been returned, even though it had not. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue or investigate further, I was made to feel like I had done something wrong.
I then went to another Express location with the exact same jacket and receipt, and they processed the return without any problems. That made the experience at this location even more frustrating.
I’ve spent thousands of dollars shopping at Express over the years, but the customer service at this store was by far the worst I’ve experienced. I felt unwelcome, dismissed, and treated without the level of respect that loyal customers deserve.
I hope management takes customer service and employee training seriously because no customer should leave feeling the way I did. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location.
They dont open on time, been waiting for 30 min.
Its 10:30 am morning, still closed.
