  I used to enjoy shopping here. But in the past few months, their focus has shifted from customer service to pushing their store charge card. The last time I was in, a pushy Indian gentlemen didn’t seem to understand the word “no.” I told him at least three times I didn’t want to open a store account, and another two times that I did not want to give my email address. With so many other shopping options, I probably will not be back.

  The employees could not be more kind and helpful. However, I can’t understand why they rarely have more than 1 *maybe* 2 cashiers… and it’s the single cashier that has to go to the back to pickup online orders. Even with only two people in front of me, it takes 20-30mins to checkout. Most of the time I end up putting my purchase back, due to the wait (and I see others do the same). It’s really unfortunate. They’ve lost out on a LOT of business due to their mismanagement of staffing.

  On 8/14/2026 I went to Belk and was helped by a young lady named Denise who was working at the front near the Menswear and she was very nice and knowledgeable. She was able to help me find exactly what I needed! 5 Stars for Denise!!

  Sunday afternoon, I stopped by Belk with one simple mission—to buy a bottle of cologne for my son. I went straight to the fragrance counter and picked up several bottles to sample. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single associate available to help with pricing or answer any questions. I noticed two sales associates standing with the Clinique representative, chatting and laughing. Assuming they were in a meeting, I browsed the Free People section for about 10 minutes before returning to the fragrance counter. When I came back, nothing had changed. The same three women were still talking, and no one acknowledged my presence or offered assistance. Eventually, they ended their conversation and started walking away. I tried to follow one associate, but she quickly disappeared into a back room. The Clinique representative approached me and said, "I would help, but I'm an independent Clinique sales representative," and then walked away. I finally asked another associate to send a manager to assist me. The manager never came. At that point, I left the store without making a purchase. I was genuinely disappointed by the complete lack of customer service. A simple greeting, acknowledgment, or "We'll be with you shortly" would have made all the difference. Instead, I felt invisible.
