  I went to Plato’s Closet (Denton) today with gently used clothes, including several items that still had the original tags on them and had never been worn due to fluctuations in my weight. The items included pieces from Anthropologie, Lululemon, and Target’s Future Collective, including a romper and dress that still had tags attached. I was told that the items were “not in style,” which I found surprising given the brands. What’s even more frustrating is that I seem to consistently receive this same response from the young lady with the black hair (Buyer of the day) I decided to take 11 of the same items to Uptown Cheapskate, and they purchased 7 of them. That really says a lot. If you have gently used clothes, especially items that are brand new with tags, I would recommend trying Uptown Cheapskate before wasting your time at Plato’s Closet (Denton).

  Excellent Experience (Selling Clothes) Took a box of clothes I don’t fit anymore in today and honestly didn’t expect much to be selected. I went in with low expectations since they were used clothes and my style is mid at best. The drop of process was quick and easy (5 minutes). I was gone for maybe 45 minutes and they were done. They thanked me for bringing in such great clothes and I got a lot more $ than I ever thought! The staff were friendly and appreciated my business. I recommend just bringing your things in. You never know what you could get in return! I will certainly be back.

  GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT A GOOD EXPERIENCE LOL. the attitude and unprofessional demeanor that plagues these girls is so insane. just based on how they held themselves, i could tell that they weren’t gonna be kind. then i waited for 3 hours for them to not take ANY of the brand new things i had but just simply didn’t use, just to say that it was because they were “old” and “stained”, which is odd because there were several things on the sales floor that had holes, mystery stains, missing straps, etc. which is why my friends and i didn’t even end up buying anything. the girl with the gold hoops and slick back had the nastiest most judgmental tone i have ever been faced with as a guest in a store. as a customer service manager myself, i understand busy days are draining but to be that rude to someone who is trying to make even a dollar extra to pay their bills (because it’s no secret that this company will give you $2 for something brand new and in perfect condition), is astounding to me. that girl absolutely has an elitist complex and it reeks.
