I usually love Mardel and have always had great experiences, but my visit on April 18, 2026 at the Arlington, TX location was very disappointing because of one employee that SENT ME. The cashier, Glynda, was so rude from the moment I walked up, no greeting, no eye contact, just rushing, sarcasm, and impatience. She questioned why my payment was “taking so long,” then canceled my transaction within minutes while my husband was sending the funds. What made it worse was how she treated the customer behind me, who was not Black. As a Black woman, the difference in treatment was obvious and concerning. When I was en route to transport my items that SHE had bagged, to wait for the manager to come, she stopped me, placed her hand on the counter near them and implied I was trying to steal or “take” the items, her words. Completely unacceptable. Thankfully, Stephen the manager handled everything with professionalism and kindness. Mardel is a great store, but this employee needs serious training in emotional intelligence, diversity, and customer respect.
