  Customers should be very careful before purchasing anything from this store, especially if there is any chance you may need to return it. I specifically asked about the return policy before buying and was only told that returns were allowed within 30 days. Nothing was said about the tag needing to remain physically attached. I returned the item just four days later with my receipt and was told it could not be accepted because I did not have the tag. I then went and found the tag, came back with both the item and the tag, and was still refused a return because the tag was no longer attached. What is most concerning is that the full return requirements were not explained when I asked about the policy, yet those additional conditions were later used to deny the return. Customers should make sure they ask for every detail of the return policy in writing before purchasing, because simply being told “30 days” was clearly not enough. The clothing quality also seems to have declined considerably, so I would think twice before making a purchase here. This experience left me with very little confidence in both the merchandise and the way customer concerns are handled.

  American Eagle no longer seems to offer the quality of clothing or customer service it once did. The clothes are also overpriced. Before making my purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was simply told that items could be returned within 30 days. I returned the item only four days later with my receipt, but the store manager told me it could not be returned because I did not have the tag. I went back, found the tag, and returned to the store with both the item and the tag. At that point, I was then told the return still could not be accepted because the tag was no longer physically attached to the item. If that is part of the return policy, it should have been clearly explained when I asked about returns before purchasing. Changing the requirements after the fact is clearly a difficult "money grab" on American Eagle's part. Between the declining quality of the clothing at higher prices and this experience with customer service, I would avoid this store at all costs.
