Of course nobody wants to have one because it’s all for the same reason but if you do, I would recommend this company and specific location without hesitation. I had no idea what I was doing or how the process worked and Jon went over everything with me. I never felt judged or out of place and He made sure I understood everything in an organized manner before I left the building. Since then I have had no problems and Jon is always friendly and in a good mood every appointment I’ve had since. Thank you Jon and the simply team, I would definitely recommend you!!

I think most people fail to realize this is a franchise with a local owner. The owner, Brandon, has gone out of his way to help when I’ve had an issue. I wish I would have known to contact him before calling corporate. He’s very helpful if he’s made aware of your issue. If you have an issue, give him the chance to try and solve it. The local technician, Kirstie, is also wonderful! She’s always so polite, and gets me in and out quickly. She runs the shop efficiently and is my favorite technician of them all (I’ve met them all at every location and they’re all great!) Again, I’ve had this interlock device for more than 3 1/2 years, so I’ve had more than my fair share of experience and encounters with this company. I won’t leave a review for just any business. But I’ve been blown away lately by the kindness and positive experiences with both Brandon and Kirstie. They deserve to be acknowledged for their wonderful customer service and willingness to help and satisfy their customers. I’m actually a little bummed I’m finally getting the device removed and won’t see Kirstie anymore! She’s that great! I highly recommend SmartStart if you’re looking for an interlock company. Just keep in mind to contact the local owner and staff if you have any issues, not corporate!

How does an Interlock Device work?
When you blow into your Ignition Interlock Device, you're providing a breath test sample in order to start the vehicle. The device then measures your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), and will either say that you passed, need to retest, or failed. You will be asked to take rolling retests throughout your drive.

Breathalyzers only measure your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC).
Is an Ignition Interlock the same as a breathalyzer?
Ignition Interlock and handheld breathalyzers both test your Breath Alcohol Concentration (BrAC), but an Ignition Interlock Device is only installed in vehicles and prevents the car from starting if there is alcohol detected. A handheld breathalyzer only detects alcohol and may tell you the concentration.
