The vision of our 501(c3) nonprofit organization is that ALL people have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through the power of work.Goodwill of Middle Tennessee is based in Nashville, TN, and serves 48 counties throughout Middle and West Tennessee. Although affiliated with Goodwill Industries International in Rockville, Md., we operate independently through our own governing board of directors. Goodwill accepts gently-used items that donors no longer want, need or use. Those items are sold, and the revenue helps fund job training services and programs provided by Goodwill Career Solutions. In addition to retail sales, Goodwill depends on several other revenue sources, including state and local grants.

- AEAsad ErfaniMay 29, 20261.0I showed up at 7:58 with a truck full of toys and barely used baby clothes for donations and they refused to even talk to me. The guy at the donation drop off walked out and with a smug hand gesture told me to turn around. Not even a hello or sorry were closed. For a corporation that benefits and profits off the generosity of the good hearted folks who are willing to donate their belongings, they’re quick to act like they don’t need it. All of this stuff will go STRAIGHT TO THE CITY DUMP first thing tomorrow because I refuse to let a greedy corporation like goodwill to benefit and profit off the stuff that I paid good ole US dollars for. I wish there was a way to give directly to the ones who need it.

I come into the store and found absolutely nothing because they send everything good off to be sold online to make an extra buck. Lots of stained shirts, worn out shoes, etc. Oh yeah, and bikes priced at $120+. Pretty sad goodwill.
- LTLee TurnerApr 25, 20261.0I am so sad and disappointed. I know Goodwill is a for-profit corporation and that there’s very little actual altruism going on when it comes to their business practices. But I at least thought this was a place I could give my belongings a second life—rather than ending up in a landfill. Today when I took kitchen items (breakable dishes, glasses, Pyrex) they just dumped everything out into their bins. This was even after I mentioned most of the items were breakable. I can’t imagine that everything survived. Never again.
