Soooooo...I don't want to throw this store totally under the bus because I do shop there every few months but somebody REALLY needs to assess the situation over there. I want to start with the employees, which I believe there are only about 5 in total for the entire store...24/7, 365. They are so delightful despite clearly being over worked. I have no idea what they are paid, but I'm sure it is not enough. I give all of them 5 stars as they are living saints. Let's move on to the store itself. Currently, they have not fixed the AC and I believe it has been broken for about 2 weeks, probably longer. I get it. These types of repairs go thru corporate. It will be fixed at some point I'm sure it just bodes to the sorry condition of this store. Moving on...the place needs a complete cleaning from ceiling to floor. Y'all really? The carpet is so stained and wretched. Let's get some new carpet squares Belk. That way when a piece is beyond repair, we can replace it with ease and move on. Perhaps cleaning the carpet once a year would help as well. Maybe some fresh paint, especially in the dressing rooms, would be a very good investment. Moving on...the store is extremely disorganized and it's always a mess. There is usually only one or two people working in ladies clothes (which includes every and all items that a lady would wear on her body, including inmates, and all sizes.) The 1-2 people they have working are at the cash register and have no time to tidy the racks or help customers. Same for the men's department, but usually no one is working over there. No one works in bedding or baby/kids and usually one person is manning the entire cosmetics area if we are lucky. Jewelry, accessories and shoes? Abandoned. Why are we operating on a skeleton crew all the time? Perhaps hiring a floater would help? Managers, where are you? Are you holding your staff accountable? Yes, I know that everything stinks now because of Covid...which was six years ago. Is it that hard to find staff? Perhaps giving some incentives might help? Pay premium rates for peak store hours. Have people work very early mornings or lates nights to get the store straightened out. I'm begging you, fix this. I like to shop in store, in fact I love it and prefer it. Online shopping is not for me. Belk is a southern tradition. This store should look like a department store, not a discount center. Somebody needs to help her straighten her crown and lift her chin because she's acting like a depressed, old raggedy barn. I guarantee you, if you make some of these changes, people will notice and you will make more money.
