Plato's Closet buys and sells gently used clothing, shoes, sneakers, accessories and athletic wear for teens and young adults in Rock Hill. Sell styles you no longer wear for cash on the spot, or shop thrifted, secondhand, and resale fashion, including trendy, brand-name styles for less. With 500+ independently owned and operated locations across the U.S. and Canada, fresh inventory arriving daily, Plato's Closet makes thrifting easy, affordable, and more sustainable.
We visited Plato’s Closet in Rock Hill on Meeting Blvd. about 40 minutes before closing and immediately felt rushed and unwelcome. Employees repeatedly warned customers that the registers would close at 6:00, pressured a family with several items to head to checkout, and one employee was visibly huffing as customers continued shopping.
Most upsetting, four customers were already waiting to try on clothing when an employee announced that the fitting rooms would close in two minutes—17 minutes before the store closed. We understand employees want to leave on time, but customers shopping during posted business hours should still be treated politely. If fitting rooms or registers close early, those times should be clearly posted.
We won’t be back. My kids were so uncomfortable because they created so much noise tension.

My son is tall with a tiny waist so kids sizes are too short. Found some great XS small men pants for my young teen! Very excited about this place!

Selection wasn't that great. The quality of what they resell has gone down.

Do not try to sell to the his store if you are overweight. The staff is very rude. I brought in 3 bags of clothes shoes and and tote of pants. Most of the pants were brand new. Some lucky brand jeans and Ralph Lauren's dress pants as well. Most of the shoes I bought from this store. I knew that may not take some of the shirts and shoes but they made it very clear that they didn't cater to large people. They didn't buy one single item. I would have given them for almost nothing. As a matter a fact I did give them to Good Will. They acted very rude and judgy and even said in a smug voice when I was packing up ( which they even just tossed the bags in the middle floor of the store) thx for seeking to us. I did reply, "I didn't actually sell anything and they just laughed. I was trying to sell my larger clothes since I just lost 85 lbs and thought someone else will want to shop here and wouldn't it be nice if they had some clothes to fit size 42-44 pants and 3xl nice shirts. The workers obviously don't want that sort of clientele in their store. Wish I could give zero stars but I wouldn't let me leave a review with no stars. If you have to shop or sell clothes at Plato's, go to the Pineville location they are good people that are not rude.
