I am a loyal JCPenney customer, 35+ yrs. I love the quality of the products, the variety of items is wonderful and the prices are competitive. I prefer getting my hair trimmed in the salon, which I did recently. My stylist, Joi, is very kind, confident, knowledgeable and efficient. However, the manager needs a refresher in what customer service means. Joi had started trimming my hair, we were the only two people in the salon. The manager was in the supply room, when another customer wanted to book an appointment. Joi stepped away for a moment to inform the manager that someone needs assistance at the counter. Instead of the manager going to handle it, Joi excused herself to go assist this customer. Luckily, for the manager, I'm a mature, professional woman. That was very rude, unprofessional and unnecessary. Joi handled the situation perfectly and she got a great tip, as always!
The older woman working in the women's department was unpleasant and failed to assist me.
Selection in the petite section lacks clothing for short women.
The carpeting throughout the store was dirty and stained.
Vacuuming and dusting is necessary to remove spider webs near in the shoe department.
The young man who checked me out was helpful and kind (the best part of my experience) on 24 Apr 2026.
Very good service

Don't go jewelry shopping in your work clothes here.....
Left work early and in an excited rush to find something for my wife for Valentines Day. I'm still in my work shirt, with a few unfortunate hydraulic oil stains, and an old pair of work olive work pants. When I arrive there are only 2 other customers besides me. I make contact with both sales women, each handling a single customer, even spoke to one twice about how she would be with me shortly. After 10'ish minutes, they finish up, meet in one of the booths to chat, and then split up to help three other people that arrived. Made eye contact and nodded at both to show I was still interested and got turned on and ignored by one and a look I can't describe from the other. 20 minutes go by, the couple leaves and the free lady starts helping someone else who just walked up, after walking by me to get to them. To top it off, when she does finally finish with the 4th person to arrive since I'd been there, she just leaves. No comment, no 'I'll be right back", just canished. I finally left after 45 minutes. I'm assuming the manager, who'd been there idly chatting with a customer for a few minutes but then, saw we walk out not looking particularly happy and asked if he could help me with anything. By then I had no interest in spending any money at this store. I hated not having something for my wife when I left, but the place make me ill. Everyone that walked up was either in dress clothes or a nice polo and was helped immediately, but there was zero interest in helping the guy who looked like he had no money and would just waste their time.
My order was sent to wrong address and they would not make it right and it was not my fault it was theirs they charge my credit card pamphlet not refund my money I will never shop with JCPenney again have been a loyal customer for many years
