  This was my first time shopping at this physical store, and it was a terrible experience—don't shop there; look elsewhere or buy online. The staff were aggressive and rude. I bought two gifts, and at no point did the employee explain that I couldn't exchange them. I had told her they were gifts—and if it's a birthday gift, there really ought to be an exchange option. I wasn't warned that it was a final sale. When I came back to exchange one pair of shoes because they were too big—I just wanted a different size—the employee treated me poorly and told me an exchange wasn't possible. The employee who helped me on the day of the purchase hadn't mentioned this, so I think you need to improve both your policies and your staff. You have to let customers know if an item can't be exchanged; how am I supposed to buy a gift that might not fit if I can't exchange it? I ended up having to buy the shoes again in a smaller size because I didn't want to embarrass the friend I was giving them to; I felt so awkward—how could she possibly wear shoes that were too big?

  Family on vacation. Came in one of my favorite stores ready to shop! Young employee in her tank top (okay I guess, it's the beach) leaning on the shoe rack, scrolling on her phone, never looked up or acknowledged us. We walked around waiting to be acknowledged. Nope. Not today. So we left. Training on customer service seems in order. Do better, Steve Madden.

  My experience at this store with Jasmine should be a text book for how customer service is applied to any business, phenomenal!!! Great energy, reception and communication. They didn't have the boots I wanted and she could have stopped there, but she didn't. She applied her knowledge of how SM works, found the boot and placed the order with a great deal to boot. This will always be a stop when I go to Myrtle Beach in the future!
